Nothing ruins a peaceful drive like a truck horn that won’t stop honking. One man became extremely frustrated as his Chevy Silverado wouldn’t stop honking its horn due to an unknown reason. It created headaches for himself and other drivers

Angry man can’t get his Chevy Silverado to stop honking

Manual Vallencillo is in need of answers and peaceful silence because his Chevy Silverado won’t stop randomly honking.

He shared that he needed to take his truck back to the dealership because it won’t stop honking by itself for no reason.

The unrelenting blare occurs while in traffic and while his truck is parked at home. It loudly shatters peace and quiet, brings unwanted attention to himself, and poses potential safety risks.

According to Torque News, other drivers shared that the cause could be related to the Chevrolet truck signaling that the battery was dead or that a door might not be properly closed.

However, Vallenco noted that the honking occurs while driving. Plus, he tried disconnecting the battery to restart the system. Another person shared that he had a similar experience in his 2021 GMC Sierra 1500 due to corroded wires.

On a Chevy Silverado forum, other owners have reported cases of spontaneous honking. The causes range from faulty wiring to BCM glitches.

Hopefully, visiting a Chevrolet dealership provides Vallencillo with a direct cause of the problem and a solution. Certified technicians will perform a comprehensive diagnostic to find the direct cause.

The problem could be due to a faulty horn relay or switch, electrical short circuits, a body control module (BCM) malfunction, or aftermarket alarm system problems.

Manual didn’t share what model year he owns or how many miles he’s accrued. It’s unclear if the problem will be covered under warranty. Hopefully, he won’t be stuck with an expensive repair bill to get some peace and quiet.
