When it comes to the Mustang GT model, there are three top choices that customers seem to gravitate to. The most popular is the Shadow Black body color with 17% of owners selecting it. Behind that is the Oxford White paint, which is chosen by 13% of Mustang drivers. The third top choice is the Rapid Red color, which 11% of owners selected. 

According to Ford, the Mustang Dark Horse has a whopping 39% of owners selected the Blue Ember paint, while 18% chose the Vapor Blue color. The third most popular paint color for this model is Shadow Black, which is selected by 16% of Mustang drivers. 

Ford’s website shows the GT and Dark Horse models offer a total of 11 colors you can choose from. Besides those that are mentioned above, you can also select:

One of the most sought-after features of the 2024 Mustang models appears to be the Electronic Drift Brake system, which 50% of owners added to their purchases. This allows the brakes to apply significantly more pressure when you step on the pedals to enable the vehicle to slide to the side more easily, which is what Drifting enthusiasts like. 

Another interesting customizable option is the transmission chosen by many drivers. Mustang owners seem to prefer the six-speed manual transmission over the automatic option. Ford reports that 27% of drivers selected the stick shift model. It isn’t too surprising, though, since there aren’t many manual gearbox models available on the market, and a muscle car like the Mustang works well with it. 

When it comes to choosing packages, it looks like 22% of Mustang owners are drawn to the performance package with the GT models. This includes features such as a Torsen Limited-Slip Rear Axle, heavy-duty front springs, paddle shifters, 19-inch aluminum wheels, and Brembo brakes.

Another popular choice is the Nite Pony Package, which offers Ebony Black aluminum painted wheels, headlamps with black bezels, Blade decklid spoiler, and GT and Pony badges adorned in black.

Despite not being on the list of popular customizations on Ford’s site, there are still two other interesting features the model offers. The first concerns its magical key fob, which has the ability to Rev up the engine just by pushing a button. What Mustang owner would pass up the chance to impress passersby with a quick roar of the engine?

The second feature you can get with the new Ford model is the updated versions of the 2.3-liter turbocharged four-cylinder and the Coyote V8 engines. These two units will be tweaked to provide more power, and the V8 will come with dual 80mm throttle bodies.
