Florida woman charged after boyfriend’s wild hood ride ends in critical crash
Police are calling it a “domestic incident.” The fight hit a tipping point at a Wawa gas station in Cocoa, Florida. Early one Tuesday morning, a 43-year-old Illinois woman got behind the wheel of a VW Golf and attempted to leave her partner behind. But he wasn’t having it. He jumped on the hood of the white car. She tried to drive anyway, he fell off, and he hopped right back on.
The couple did this–while reportedly screaming–multiple times. Finally, the woman was able to drive onto State Road 520. A shocking video shows the car moving fast, the man sitting against the windshield and holding on for dear life. But it’s very difficult to see the road when someone is sitting on your windshield. The driver crashed, hitting multiple vehicles and a sign post.
The accident threw the man off the hood and out into the street. He was then run over by another vehicle.
After the crash, both these folks were transported to the hospital. The man is in critical condition with head injuries. The woman was charged with second-degree murder and leaving the scene of a crime. Police say the man may also face charges if he survives. You can see the video embedded below:
