‘Disgusting’: Florida DoorDash Driver Caught on Camera Dropping Food on Ground, Putting It Back in Box
A family in Florida was recently left aghast by what they saw on their doorbell camera footage. They saw a DoorDash delivery driver who was dropping off their food do something no one wants to see.
At first, the video taken at Trena Brown’s home in Orange Park looks normal. The DoorDash delivery driver sets their insulated case down to place the food order on the porch.
Unfortunately, while doing so, a container of boneless chicken wings accidentally gets tipped over. That’s when one of the wings falls out of the container and onto the concrete.
Rather than apologize and throw the contaminated chicken wing away, the delivery driver instead does the unthinkable. They put the wing back into the container.
The driver then licks some sauce off his fingers, tries to wipe up some spilled sauce with his shoe, and walks away. Brown shared video of the incident with News4JAX.
“Just disgusting. It’s disgusting,” Trena Brown said after watching the video again.
Thankfully for her and her family, they saw the video before eating any of the food.
Maybe it’s time for DoorDash to provide ‘some type of training’
“All he had to do was knock on the door and say, ‘Hey, it was really one boneless wing, out of 12 that dropped on the ground. I dropped this, just wanted to let you know,'” she suggested.
After seeing what happened, Brown thinks some changes are needed. Oh, and she hasn’t used DoorDash since this happened.
“If he can’t deliver food with due care, then maybe there’s something else out there for him to do,” Brown said. “Secondly, on DoorDash’s behalf, I’m not sure what the training is, but maybe it’s time to bring the drivers in and require them to have some type of training.”
Jenn Rosenberg, Senior Manager, Head of Trust & Dasher Experience Communications for DoorDash, responded to News4JAX when contacted to comment on the video.
“On background, this is well below the level of service we aim to provide on every delivery and certainly not the experience we want customers to have when they order dinner from DoorDash,” she said. “Our team is investigating and has issued a warning to the Dasher.”
