The seats are only moderately comfortable, but hopefully, the fun ride makes up for it. Blind-spot monitoring and adaptive cruise control are offered if you find one of the higher trim levels. Forward collision warning is also available.

The 2.0-liter turbocharged engine gets 252 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque, reaching a zero to 60 mph time of 6.4 seconds. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) gave this fast SUV a five-star safety rating.

0-60 mph time: 6.4 seconds

Horsepower: 252 hp @ 5,500 rpm

Torque: 260 lb-ft @ 2,500 rpm

List Price Range: 17,499 – $36,980

Coming in second, the 2020 Mazda CX-5 with the 2.5-liter turbo engine has a lot to offer buyers. Edmunds even says it is one of the best small SUVs from this production year. Mazda provides plenty of quality along with a fun ride experience. The CX-5 has 250 hp and 310 lb-ft of torque to keep up with everyone.

If you can find the Grand Touring Reserve and Signature, it has even more safety features. Plus, the 6.6-second zero to 60 mph time doesn’t hurt. Smart Brake Support, Lane Keep Assist, and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert are some of the best safety features. The NHTSA gave this SUV a five-star safety rating as well.

0-60 mph time: 6.6 seconds

Horsepower: 250 hp @ 5,000 rpm

Torque: 310 lb-ft @ 2,000 rpm

List Price Range: $20,531 – $37,998

The Hyundai Kona with the turbo engine scoots

While the 2020 Hyundai Kona might not have been on your list, it should be. The 1.6-liter turbo engine gets from zero to 60 mph in 7.2 seconds. With its low $26,995 starting price, you can go up in trim level and still be within budget. This Hyundai SUV has 175 hp and 195 lb-ft of torque, which is plenty of power for this small sport utility vehicle.

Edmunds says the extensive list of safety features is a bonus. Forward Collision Avoidance, Driver Attention Warning, and Blind-Spot Collision Warning are some of the best systems. Edmunds reports another five-star safety score from the NHTSA.

0-60 mph time: 7.2 seconds

Horsepower: 175 hp @ 5,500 rpm

Torque: 195 lb-ft @ 1,500 rpm

List Price Range: $16,700 – $32,860

While this list is small, it is mighty. These options are from 2020, meaning a smaller price on a quick SUV. As more 2023 models start to hit the market, you might be happy to see dealerships trying to move inventory. Use that to your advantage to help get one of the fastest used SUVs with a turbo engine off the dealership lot and into your driveway.
