Jeep Grand Cherokee

For fans of SUVs, you don’t get a lot better than the Jeep Grand Cherokee. It’s always provided passengers with a smooth ride whether on the road or off it. Yes, the current generation originated in 2010. But it’s updated and its ties to the Mercedes-Benz ML-class have kept it an appealing offering. The 2020 Grand Cherokees are loaded with great features.

The Grand Cherokee offers a lot of options for customization. It can be most any type of SUV you want it to be. From the base Laredo to the posh Summit, Grand Cherokee is capable, versatile, and a true delight.

For the 2020 models, a six-cylinder diesel engine is no longer an option. The Limited and Trailhawk models now get a single-pane sunroof standard. When it comes to lighting, you can get the new Premium Lighting Group on Laredo, Limited, and Trailhawk models. These include the bi-xenon high-intensity discharge headlamps, LED fog lamps, auto high-beam headlamps, and signature daytime running lights for improved visibility.

There are new wheel designs for High Altitude models. The Laredo trim now has the Active Safety Group suite of safety features like automated emergency braking, forward-collision warning, active lane-keeping, and automatic high-beams. That’s an advantage as it used to be only available with the Limited models and it cost more. There are also new interior color options for both Overland and Summit trim levels for greater variety.

Technology features

Jeep’s infotainment system is a good one. It’s called Uconnect and it’s easy to use, fast, and a step above some infotainment systems offered by other automakers. The standard display is a tiny 5.0-inch screen. An upgrade to the available 8.4-inch touchscreen might be worth it to you if you want a screen that’s easy to read. There are lots of ways to charge devices for both front and rear passengers.

There are available rear-seat options available. There’s also in-car Wi-Fi that allows you to stream video or music on the road to entertain kids and teens on long trips. You can keep everyone entertained.

There’s a six-speaker audio system that comes standard with Grand Cherokee. You can also upgrade to get SiriusXM satellite radio. There’s also an optional 19-speaker Harman/Kardon setup on the Overland trim level but it’s standard on the Summit models.

Apple CarPlay

The growth of automotive technology in the last several years has been phenomenal. Now we’re seeing auto manufacturers team up with top tech companies to provide consumers with the connectivity they want and need on the road.

With Apple CarPlay, you can connect the Uconnect system of the Jeep Grand Cherokee with your iPhone for an integrated system with a lot of advantages. Using Apple CarPlay, you can use your iPhone’s navigation, make hands-free calls, access Siri using voice commands, and listen to music throughout the entire vehicle.

Apple CarPlay allows you to use the best features of your iPhone while on the road for entertainment, safety, and great convenience. Plus you can stay in touch on all your adventures. With the popularity of iPhones, you can use your Apple apps on the touchscreen of your Jeep Grand Cherokee.

With the latest updates to Apple CarPlay, the systems run more efficiently. Future plans for CarPlay will include compatibility with both Skype and Facebook.Â
