A ton of pickup trucks on the road are still going strong with surprisingly high mileage. Nissan is among the top brands for potential truck lifespan. One percent of the Nissan Frontiers currently on the road have 215,775 or more miles, and 1% of the Nissan Titans currently on the road have 233,295 or more miles. Despite how long many Nissan trucks last, they are also one of the most affordable options for a used truck. Read on to find out how much you can expect to pay for one of these long-lasting trucks. And find out why they are the most expensive brand of truck when new.

What is the cheapest brand of used pickup trucks?

A limited supply of used vehicles and skyrocketing MSRPs for new vehicles are conspiring to drive up the prices of used pickup trucks. The midsize Nissan Frontier is the final five-year-old used full-frame truck changing hands for less than $25k on average.

You can get an older full-size Nissan Titan for not much more than a Frontier. This truck made iSeeCars.comā€˜s list of used trucks you can get for less than $35k. The only other trucks to make this list were the Ram and Ram 1500 Classic.

A Nissan Titan XD is stouter than a half-ton. But it is not quite a heavy-duty truck (like the Super Duty or 2500s are). But it does have heavier springs and a higher payload capacity than a regular Titan. The XD made the list of best used trucks under $40k.

No other brand features both full-size and midsize pickup trucks reselling as cheaply as Nissan.

What is the longest-lasting brand of pickup trucks?

The Toyota Tundra has the highest potential lifespan, ranked by the mileage of pickups currently on the road. The Tacoma comes in third, so Toyota is by far the longest-lasting brand of full-frame trucks. But Nissan clinches fourth place with the Titan.

Ford certainly gives Nissan a run for its money. One percent of Nissan Titans have 233,295 or more miles, but 1% of Ford F-150s on the road are rocking 232,650 or more milesā€“so Americaā€™s favorite truck is hot on the Titanā€™s heels. Moreover, the Ford Ranger comes in just ahead of the Nissan Frontier.

These numbers are not necessarily the end of the road for these trucks.Ā iSeeCars Executive Analyst Karl Brauer said, ā€œAnd to be clear, this study isnā€™t reporting the maximum lifespan of these vehicles. This is simply a measure of current odometer readings. Most of these cars are still in use and going strong.ā€

How much is a new Nissan pickup truck?

Though Nissanā€™s trucks are some of the cheapest used pickups, they are some of the most expensive when new. The 2024 Nissan Frontier will start at $29,770 while the NIssan Titan starts at $47,665.

Why are Nissan pickup trucks so much more expensive than the competition? In the case of the Titan, which is in its final year of production, Nissan is dropping the pickupā€™s entry-levle trims. The result may be competitive with other mid-trim trucks, but advertises a very high MSRP.
