The Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 is an absolute force to be reckoned with. Though the Camaro is the least-selling modern American Muscle Car, it still has plenty of positive traits to appreciate. This is especially true of the ZL1 models. However, with a brand new ZL1 starting north of $60,000, it isn’t exactly within the budget of most folks. However, after a little digging to find a deal, here’s the cheapest Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 currently available on the used market!

After some digging through AutoTempest, it seems that this 2013 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 on is the cheapest one currently available in the U.S. It’s for sale in Henderson, Nevada, just north of Las Vegas. Currently, its asking price is $32,424. That’s about $1,000 cheaper than a 2022 Honda Accord Sport!

Don’t think for a second that it’s a bit underwhelming because it’s nearly a decade old. Under the hood of this 2013 Camaro ZL1 is a supercharged 6.2-liter LSA V8 engine. This is the same powerplant in the Cadillac CTS-V. It makes a plentiful power output of 580 horsepower and 556 pound-feet of torque.

The 2013 Camaro ZL1 is good for a sprint from zero to 60 miles per hour in just 3.9 seconds when equipped with the paddle-shiftable automatic transmission like this one is. Additionally, it has a top speed of over 180 miles per hour. It’s far from slow!

The one potential drawback of this Camaro ZL1 is its mileage. The listing states that it has 85,470 miles on it currently. While that is pretty high for a ZL1, it’s worth remembering that the Chevrolet LS engine is one of the most reliable powerplants around. However, it’s also worth keeping in mind that ZL1s aren’t driven all that gently most of the time.

As with most cars, though, so long as it’s been properly maintained, it’s likely got plenty of life left in it. Despite the mileage and the automatic transmission (obviously, the enthusiast choice would be the six-speed manual), this Camaro ZL1 is still an awesome buy.

The Camaro ZL1 isn’t just a straight line hero

While the zero to 60 and top speed figures are indeed impressive, the Camaro ZL1 is much more than just a classic straight-line American Muscle Car.

The Camaro ZL1 has an independent rear suspension assembly and a limited-slip differential to give it excellent cornering capabilities. In Car and Driver’s 2013 Lightning Lap testing, the Camaro ZL1 beat the BMW 335i by a whopping 16 seconds with a lap time of just 2:57.5. Additionally, this lap time proved the Camaro could easily punch up to vehicles that cost far more. It also outperformed the 2013 Shelby GT500, Porsche 911 Carrera S, and Mercedes C63 AMG Black Series.

Overall, the Camaro, in general, is fairly underwhelming in the sales and appreciation department. That’s a bit sad, to be honest. Though it upholds its traditional muscle car heritage, the ZL1 is a cut above that breaches far more into sports car territory. Additionally, it has the lap times and performance characteristics to hang with the best of them.

So, if you’re in the market for a Camaro ZL1 but can’t afford a brand new one, you should definitely consider picking this awesome example up before it’s too late!
