Bloody evidence in abandoned truck links Michigan couple to murder
Are you ready for another true crime story? Well, I’m already wearing my detective hat! Bloody evidence found in an abandoned pickup truck links a couple in Michigan to murder. Two people have been arrested so far.
Michigan police find bloody evidence in abandoned truck
Police officers in Oscoda County, Michigan, were performing a routine shift when they came across an abandoned truck. It was left in Huron National Forest.
Upon further investigation, Michigan State Police came across a large amount of blood in the bed of the truck. Plus, there was a rolled-up carpet that was soaked with blood.
The owner of the truck, Doreen Kay Schunk, and her boyfriend William Jackson went missing on the morning of July 11. They determined that the carpet came from a pole barn owned by Schunk. More human blood was found in the barn.
According to CBS News, Clifford Marion Farthing shared that Schunk and Jackson argued about money in the barn, and he shot Jackson three times.
He helped Schunk roll the body on the carpet. The body was later found by the abandoned truck. Next, Schunk returned to her home and disposed of the gun.
Farthing is charged with open murder as a habitual third offender and felony firearms second offense. Schunk is charged with conspiracy to commit murder and a felony firearm.
The truck is probably being held as evidence. While murder is wrong, why did the couple abandon the pickup? Why didn’t they get rid of the carpet or clean the pole barn? Also, what amount of cash is worth taking a life?
