2023 Honda HR-V is the most affordable Honda model

With a starting price of $23,650 MSRP, the 2023 Honda HR-V subcompact crossover SUV is the cheapest new Honda model available. For the 2023 model year, the HR-V received an impressive redesign, with a stylish new look and improved driving dynamics. Also, the HR-V shares the platform with the highly-popular Civic compact car and utilizes its base 2.0-liter inline-four engine.

Additionally, the HR-V is larger than the outgoing model, resulting in more passenger and cargo space. Plus, it offers new features, including an updated infotainment system and new driving assistance technologies.

Another affordable Honda model that costs less than $30,000 is the aforementioned 2023 Honda Civic compact car. The Civic offers multiple variants, including the Civic Sedan ($24,640 MSRP), the Civic Hatchback $24,750 MSRP, and the sporty Civic Si Sedan ($28,100 MSRP).

There’s also the high-performance Civic Type R “hot hatch,” but it’s more expensive than the other Civic variants. The official price information is not yet available for the 2023 Civic Type R, but the previous iteration, the 2021 Civic Type R, starts at $37,895 MSRP.

Sedans and hatchbacks are not as popular as they used to be — as consumers increasingly buy crossovers and SUVs. However, the Honda Civic bucks this trend. It continues to sell well, both in the United States and around the world. Along with its budget-friendly price, the Civic has good driving dynamics, an upscale cabin, and useful technologies.
