There’s a lot to like about the 2021 Toyota Sienna. So much, in fact, that it’s pretty easy to say that the Sienna is among the most practical cars ever made. But don’t just take our word for it. Here are five reasons why the 2021 Toyota Sienna is the most practical car on the road today.

1. The 2021 Toyota Sienna is standard with a hybrid engine

Not a fan of making frequent stops to the gas station? Then you’ll be pleased to know that the 2021 Toyota Sienna comes standard with an all-hybrid powertrain. Its standard 2.5-liter hybrid engine is pretty thrifty too. In fact, with its hybrid engine under the hood, the 2021 Toyota Sienna delivers an EPA-estimated 36 mpg in the city and 36 mpg on the highway. That makes the Sienna more fuel-efficient than rivals like the 2021 Honda Odyssey.

2. This new minivan is available with all-wheel drive

While the Sienna’s fuel-sipping powertrain is enticing, what’s even more appealing about this year’s new Toyota Sienna is that it’s available with all-wheel drive. Of course, that doesn’t make the Sienna a tried and true off-roader like the Toyota 4Runner. However, it will give you the ability to take on slippery conditions and uneven terrain with a tad more confidence than if you’d opted for a Sienna with front-wheel drive.

3. The 2021 Toyota Sienna is an IIHS Top Safety Pick+

The 2021 Toyota Sienna makes nary a compromise when it comes to standard safety features. In fact, this year’s model is standard with a slew of driver-assist features, including a pre-collision system with pedestrian detection, lane departure alert with steering assist, lane tracing assist, automatic high beams, full-speed range dynamic radar cruise control, and road sign assist. With so many standard safety features to its name, it’s no surprise the IIHS named this year’s new Toyota Sienna an IIHS Top Safety Pick+. The NHTSA awarded it a five-star overall safety rating too.

4. This new minivan boasts a highly versatile interior

While safety and fuel efficiency are certainly important, chances are you’re interested in what the new Toyota Sienna’s interior has to offer. Fortunately, quite a lot. In fact, according to Consumer Reports, this cavernous minivan is stock full of convenient features. Available in either seven- or eight-passenger configurations, this year’s Sienna is available with kick-activated dual power sliding doors and a rear liftgate. It’s also available with features like Driver Easy Speak, a rear-seat entertainment system, WiFi connectivity, and more.

5. The 2021 Toyota Sienna is a new car under $35,000

The most practical cars are also affordable. Fortunately, the 2021 Toyota Sienna is just that. In fact, this year’s model is a new car under $35,000. Base models start at $34,460 and include features like a 9-inch touchscreen display with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Amazon Alexa compatibility. At its most expensive, this new minivan will have you spending $49,900, which still isn’t all that bad considering the top-tier trim adds features like a 10-inch color head-up display and a bird’s eye view camera.

Is the 2021 Toyota Sienna worth it?

If you’re in the market for an affordable new car that’s fuel-efficient, safe, and stock full of features, then the Toyota Sienna just might be worth it for you. To find out, however, we recommend taking this year’s new Sienna out for a test drive.
