The Toyota Corolla is not only the best-selling compact car in the world, but it’s also the best-selling car overall. Not far behind on the best-selling list is the Honda Civic. Are you considering buying either the Corolla or the Civic? Here are four reasons to buy a 2022 Toyota Corolla, not a Honda Civic.

Unlike the 2022 Honda Civic, the 2022 Toyota Corolla offers a hybrid model in the U.S.

The first reason to buy a 2022 Toyota Corolla instead of a 2022 Honda Civic is that unlike the Civic, the Corolla offers a hybrid model in the United States. Considering the high cost of gasoline these days, a very efficient car like the Corolla Hybrid is an appealing choice.

With an estimated fuel economy of 53 city/52 highway mpg, your trips to the fuel pump will be few and far between for the Corolla Hybrid. In comparison, the Civic gets an estimated fuel economy of up to 33 city/42 highway mpg.

The second reason to buy a 2022 Toyota Corolla instead of a 2022 Honda Civic is reliability. A car is a significant purchase. With this in mind, you want this important investment to have the reliability to last many years and miles. You want to be able to trust a car to have the reliability to always your destination. A reliable car also saves you a great deal of money from not having to spend as much on repairs.

The 2022 Corolla is more reliable than the 2022 Civic. For the J.D. Power reliability ratings, the Corolla earned a score of 85/100, compared to 82/100 for the Civic.

Unlike the Honda Civic, the Toyota Corolla has a free maintenance plan

The third reason to buy a 2022 Corolla instead of a 2022 Civic is that, unlike the Civic, the Corolla has a free maintenance plan. An important element of ensuring that a car is reliable is to follow the recommended maintenance. With the complimentary ToyotaCare maintenance plan for the Corolla, keeping a car well maintained is a more affordable endeavor.

ToyotaCare for the Corolla provides free maintenance for two years or 25,000 miles. It includes engine oil and filter changes, multi-point inspections, tires rotations, and topping off of the fluids.

2022 Corolla is more affordable than the 2022 Civic, with better value

The fourth reason to buy the 2022 Corolla instead of the 2022 Civic is that it is more affordable. While the 2022 Corolla has a starting price of $20,175 MSRP, the 2022 Civic starts at $22,350 MSRP.

Also, the Corolla provides better value with more standard features. Despite the lower price, the base-level Corolla L has many features that are not in the base-level Civic LX. This includes a Wi-Fi hotspot, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration, satellite radio, a telematics system, and a remote trunk release function.

The 2022 Toyota Corolla has advantages for an available hybrid model, reliability, a free maintenance plan, and a lower price with better value. These advantages give the 2022 Toyota Corolla an edge for buying it instead of the 2022 Honda Civic.
