A new and smaller Acura SUV is heading our way. The 2025 Acura ADX fits into the subcompact luxury crossover segment. This could be an excellent choice for consumers searching for a small Acura SUV with many of the brand’s signature driving qualities.

We don’t know much, but we’re intrigued

The only aspect of this new subcompact luxury crossover SUV that Acura revealed is that it will have a turbocharged engine. They didn’t even tell us which one it would use. We could see the 1.5-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine from the Integra in the new ADX. This could give the small SUV 200 horsepower, giving it plenty of power to be fun on any road.

The new ADX should have AWD as an option for those who want power on all four wheels. Still, it will likely come standard as an FWD SUV.

What does the 2025 Acura ADX compete with?

This new subcompact Acura SUV will compete with three German luxury rivals: the BMW X1, Audi Q3, and Mercedes-Benz GLA. There are other models in the subcompact luxury SUV class, but these are the top dogs right now. This means the ADX has its work cut out for it to gain the desired attention and a strong following. This SUV class is the entry point for many consumers to become lifelong brand loyalists.

Will the ADX be the luxury version of the Honda HR-V?

Creating a luxury version of the HR-V would be a money-saver for Acura, Honda’s luxury arm, but it might spell death for the new SUV before it gets going. Consumers have gotten smarter and desire signature elements they can associate with the higher-class brand, even if that vehicle shares a platform and powertrain with a mainstream model.

The new 2025 Acura ADX brings the brand’s SUV total to four, providing a new gateway for SUV owners. According to Emile Korker, assistant vice president of Acura National Sales:

“The 2025 Acura ADX will add a fourth SUV to our lineup and a new gateway model ready to build on the incredible success of Integra, helping make Acura a destination brand for a new generation of buyers. With the first-ever ADX, and all-electric ZDX, the Acura lineup will have SUVs covered from A to Z.”

As we approach the debut of the new ADX, we’ll learn more about it and understand what it means for the brand. Will you give this new luxury subcompact SUV your attention?
