The 2024 Acura TLX is getting a minor refresh halfway through its second generation. The Japanese automaker is capitalizing on what previously worked for the mid-size sedan while slimming it down in certain areas. There’s a new grille, color options, and a little more tech.

There used to be seven different trim levels for the Acura TLX, but for the new model year, there will be a couple less. The Technology package is now standard and will be available only on front-wheel drive models. The A-Spec and Type S models are at the top of the trim line and will only be offered in all-wheel drive.

Otherwise, the new TLX will have a new grille on its base model, and the A-Spec trim will come with a new diamond-mesh grille and 19-inch split five-spoke dark gray wheels. The TLX Type S will have a tighter-weave grille and 20-inch shiny black wheels with the option of copper 20-inch rollers.

Other exterior enhancements include an A-Spec diffuser, round exhaust tips, and two new paint colors. There’s an Urban Gray Pearl color for the A-Spec and Type S and a Liquid Carbon Metallic for the base TLX.

In short, nothing. The base 2024 Acura TLX and A-Spec model use the same tried-and-true turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine we’ve seen in previous years. That engine generates 272 hp and 280 lb-ft of torque, so if more is needed, the TLX Type-S is what you seek.

The Acura TLX Type S isn’t different from last year, though. It will have the same turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 engine we know and love. It produces 355 hp and 354 lb-ft of torque, which is plenty of power for everyday driving, especially if your commute includes a canyon road.

The new Acura TLX will have some updated tech

The new Acura TLX’s interior will have some minor updates. There’s a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel to keep the driver well-informed. The infotainment system will also have a 12.3-inch screen and respond faster to inputs.

Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are now standard and will have Amazon Alexa Built-in. There’s also a wireless charging pad in every model, and the rear-seat passenger can charge their phones via the charging ports.

We should expect to see the slightly revised 2024 Acura TLX models in dealerships around November this year. However, remember that the shipment times depend upon the dealership’s location, so check with your local dealer for more arrival details.
