The 2022 Jeep Wrangler and Gladiator received a few crucial upgrades for the new model year. Although the changes aren’t massive, they improve both models a lot. Jeep’s off-road SUV and small pickup truck have tons of competition, so they’ll take any upgrades they can get. Additionally, the upgrades to the Ford Bronco and Ranger continue to push Jeep to improve its offerings as well.

According to CarScoops, the entry-level Sport trims no longer come with a tiny 5-inch infotainment system. Each model except 2-door Wranglers without air conditioning gets a brand new 7-inch version instead. In addition, the Wrangler Sahara and Rubicon now come standard with an 8.4-inch touchscreen display. The exact size unit is also in Gladiator Overland, Rubicon, and Mojave models. However, the same Gladiator trims also come with a nine-speaker Alpine audio system and GPS navigation.

Next, the Wrangler Sahara and Rubicon and the Gladiator Overland, Rubicon, and Mojave all come with a passive entry system. A new standard cabin air filter that removes 95% of particulates is included in each model, no matter which trims you choose. One new exterior color is also available, with Silver Zynith replacing Billet Silver in the lineup.

New additions to the Gladiator lineup end there, but the Wrangler keeps rolling. For instance, the Wrangler Sahara 4xe plug-in hybrid comes with blue wheel accents and tow hooks. Secondly, High Altitude models gain 20-inch wheels and integrated side-mirror turn signals.

In addition, the Jeep Wrangler gets a little better for off-road driving. Off-road enthusiasts will be pleased to hear that Rubicon models now have a 4.88 axle ratio, allowing for a 100:1 factory crawl ratio. In the beginning, it will only be available on six-speed manual, 3.6-liter V6 models but will eventually spread elsewhere in the lineup.

Two of the most popular models in the Jeep lineup just got a little bit better. Each model receives brand new standard equipment for the new model year. Base models are less basic, and more expensive models are now even better. The market is overflowing with competition, and off-roading seems to be a growing trend.
