The 2022 Infiniti QX50 crossover gained crucial tech upgrades for the new model year. Along with them comes a boost in price, but it’s offset nicely. Like any luxury crossover or SUV, the Infiniti QX50 was already well-equipped. For 2022, it gains even more tech upgrades, making it a high-quality choice. Each trim level gained some new tech but got a little more pricey along the way.
2022 Infiniti QX50 tech upgrades
An equipment makeover for the luxury crossover means plenty of tech upgrades. Firstly, Apple CarPlay is now standard across all trim levels. The same goes for a few other Infiniti models, which added the highly regarded feature for 2022. A brand new standard driver assistance system also joins the lineup.
The 2022 Infiniti QX50 Pure base model now comes with ProPILOT Assist. The new safety package combines adaptive cruise control with lane-centering technology. Additionally, the QX50 gains an auto-dimming rearview mirror, USB Type C ports in the rear, and Intelligent Key now works on the rear doors.
2022 Infiniti QX50 – trim and price changes
The entry-level Infiniti QX50 Pure starts at $39,000, up to $1,050. The next highest trim level took an $850 leap up to $42,350 for the Luxe model. The QX50 Luxe didn’t gain any new technology for 2022, but it did get a new appearance package. The appearance package adds black mirror caps, a body-color diffuser, and 20-inch black machined-finish wheels for $1,200.
The next highest trim, Essential, gained heated and ventilated front seats. It also has a heated steering wheel and a 16-speaker Bose premium audio system. Its price is increased by $2,100 and begins at $47,800. The next step up the ladder is the $51,500 Sensory trim, which now comes with perforated semi-aniline leather upholstery, heated second-row seats, and a motion-activated power liftgate.
Finally, the top trim is titled Autograph and costs $56,950. The range-topper hasn’t changed for the new model year other than being exclusively all-wheel drive.
2022 Infiniti QX50 – engine and specs
Regardless of the trim customers select, the QX50 comes with the same engine. The only available engine is a turbocharged 2.0-liter VC-Turbo four-cylinder, making 268 horsepower and 280 lb-ft of torque. It also uses a continuously variable transmission, and customers can swap FWD variants to AWD for $2,000 extra.
The Infiniti QX50 crossover gets 24 and 30-31 city/highway miles per gallon. It can go from 0 to 60 mph in 6.5 seconds and maxes out at 141 mph. It’s pretty affordable compared to other similarly equipped luxury crossover models. For example, the BMW X3 starts at $43,000, and the Lexus RX starts at $45,220. Non-luxury crossover models tend to start much cheaper than the QX50 competition.
