There’s no denying the 2023 Ford Bronco is a head-turning SUV. Although the Bronco is known for its off-roading chops, it’s less known for its camping capabilities. But that doesn’t mean the Bronco doesn’t deserve a better rep for its overlanding capabilities. Here are some Ford Bronco accessories that help elevate this wildly popular SUV to an ultimate overlanding vehicle.

Every Ford Bronco owner will want this outdoor accessory

The Overland Exterior Area Lighting and Speaker is an excellent accessory for Bronco owners who love the outdoors. Available through Ford for $549, this accessory is the ultimate camping light, with a solar-powered design and lithium-ion battery. This accessory contains three pod lights, a 3.75-inch Bluetooth speaker, and universal charging ports. The tripod stand has a telescoping pole that can extend from 70 inches to 90 inches tall in seconds, Ford says. In addition, this light can serve as a charging station, providing power to the campsite throughout the night.

While the Overland Exterior Area Lighting and Speaker accessory is an excellent add-on for 2021 to 2023 Broncos, this accessory can also be used with other Ford models. They include the 2022 Ecosport, 2022 and 2023 Edge, 2022 and 2023 F-150, 2022 Mustang, 2019 to 2023 Ranger, and 2023 Lincoln Aviator. Ford provides a complete list of compatible vehicles.

A similar accessory to the Overland Exterior Area Lighting and Speaker is the UFO Solar Light Light Pods & Speaker Universal, also made by Overland Vehicle Systems. The product is similar to the one available through Ford. However, it’s much cheaper, listed on Overland’s site for only $269.99.

These other Ford Bronco accessories can create the ultimate outdoorsy SUV

Another useful Ford Bronco accessory for outdoor enthusiasts is the Thule Tepui Explorer Ayer two-person rooftop tent. It transforms any Bronco into an overlanding vehicle. However, it doesn’t come cheap. This Thule Tepui Explorer Ayer two-person rooftop tent costs $1,599.

Other Ford Bronco accessories that equip this rugged SUV into the ultimate camping vehicle are fold-out work tables, portable air compressors, and locking storage boxes. Installing fold-out tables in the back hatch creates a mobile workspace that can be handy for food prep and organizing gear. Installing a fold-out work table generally costs around $209.

No one wants to be out on the backroads and discover they have a flat tire. That’s why investing in a $369 portable air compressor is a must-have Ford Bronco accessory.

Another must is a lock box to secure valuables while on the trails. According to CarScoops, a console storage box made from 12-gauge cold-rolled steel plating costs $339.

Is the Bronco the ideal camping SUV?

It’s no secret the Ford Bronco touts off-roading capabilities, but does that make it an ideal camping SUV? Edmunds praises its excellent cargo space for hauling tents, duffel bags, coolers, and other gear. However, that’s only if two people are going on the camping trip.

Trying to fit more than a couple of people and all their gear in a Bronco is a no-go. This compact SUV provides only 22.4 cubic feet in the rear cargo area. However, for a couple of camping enthusiasts looking to tackle tough trails while turning heads, the 2023 Ford Bronco will fit the bill.
