Usually, nobody wants to deal with having their trucks stolen. However, if thieves take your Ford F-150 there is a slight sliver lining. The automaker will provide you with a check for $2,500 to ease your pain. That’s better than nothing.

You can get a $2,500 check if your Ford F-150 is stolen

The Ford F-150 is a popular target among thieves for a few different reasons. It’s the most popular truck, meaning it has high demand. Plus, you can part it out to sell the headlights, taillights, bumpers, and more for profit.

To fight back against the risk of theft, Ford has decided to give drivers slight relief. Ford has decided to offer a deductible reimbursement of up to $2,500 if your truck is stolen and then damaged or never recovered.

Oftentimes, thieves will crash the trucks and SUVs that they’ve stolen during their high-speed getaway attempts.

Ford also is deterring thieves by providing owners with a free one-year trial of the Ford Security Package. Then it will be available for $7.99 a month.

The service allows owners to shut their trucks down with their keyfob. As a result, it won’t start even if someone has a key. Owners will receive a one time 12-digit code through the Ford app to enter in the infotainment system to deactivate the lockdown.

According to Motor 1, this service is available in 40 states. It’s for the Ford F-150, F-150 Hybrid, and Super Duty trucks. For some reason, the F-150 Lightning isn’t included.
