Muscle cars are all about daring designs and high-octane performance. And getting behind the wheel of one of these intimidating machines is a surreal experience. However, the 2021 Ford Mustang holds a distinct advantage over its competitors, and you’ll notice it immediately.

The 2021 Ford Mustang, Chevy Camaro, and Dodge Challenger are some of the most affordable new sports cars on the market. However, the Mustang is notably different from its rivals.

What does the Mustang have that other muscle cars lack? We’ll fill you and help you imagine just what it’s like to be in the driver’s seat of Ford’s iconic pony car.

Sports cars have an alluring silhouette that captivates onlookers. At one point or another, you’ve likely pictured yourself behind the wheel of one.

However, reality doesn’t often live up to expectations. Many of these model’s aggressive designs come with the drawback of limited visibility. Unfortunately, that characteristic plagues muscle cars like the 2021 Dodge Challenger and the 2021 Chevy Camaro.

Thankfully, you don’t have to experience this issue if you want to drive a cool, fast car. The 2021 Ford Mustang offers some of the best visibility in its class, giving drivers the view they need to achieve peak performance.

This advantage just might prove why the Mustang is the best-selling American sports car.

Consumer Reports’ review of the Mustang stated, “Unlike many sporty cars and coupes, the Mustang can serve as a daily driver without severely compromising visibility, ease of access, or drivability.”

What’s different about this muscle car’s structure?

Most models in this segment are quite burly. This aggressive design gives vehicles like the 2021 Dodge Challenger an old-school look that classic car enthusiasts love.

However, the downside is that manufacturers need to sacrifice utility to achieve this design. The U.S. News & World Report’s review of the Challenger criticized the muscle car’s large rear pillars, which creates large blind spots.

Ford didn’t completely eliminate this problem in the Mustang. You’ll still face the problem of limited rearward visibility, but that’s something you’ll have to deal with on almost any sports car model. However, these blind spots aren’t as impactful as that of the Challenger and Camaro.

Meanwhile, the 2021 Ford Mustang offers a much better front-facing view than its competitors.

Consumer Reports stated that the Mustang has thinner roof pillars than the Camaro and Challenger. This design structure leads to less obstruction and, therefore, a safer driving experience.

Notably, the 2021 Ford Mustang still doesn’t offer the vast visibility of a sedan or SUV. However, that shouldn’t be an issue for most Mustang enthusiasts, as its view is just about as good as it gets in the segment.

Does the 2021 Ford Mustang deliver class-leading performance?

No, the Mustang can’t compete in a straight-line race against the insanely powerful Dodge Challenger SRT Super Stock. However, that’s not quite the race the 2021 Ford Mustang is trying to win.

Ford’s pony car delivers more agile handling than its American muscle car rivals. Plus, it still offers an array of potent engine options to boot.

It comes with a 2.3-liter turbocharged four-cylinder that kicks out an impressive 330 hp. However, you can equip your 2021 Mustang with an available 460-hp 5.0-liter V8, 480-hp 5.0-liter V8, or 760-hp 5.2-liter supercharged V8.

All-in-all, the best muscle car will come down to your personal preference. However, the 2021 Ford Mustang’s visibility superiority can’t be challenged.
