With new car prices as out-of-control as they are, leasing a car is a solid option for consumers. Furthermore, for sedan shoppers looking to score a new set of wheels, Hyundai’s library offers some affordable leases, like a new Sonata. That might be some comfort to motorists looking to escape the $700 average car payment in the United States. As a matter of fact, savvy shoppers can lease any one of these sedans for around $200.

Hyundai Elantra is a staple in affordability, reliability, and variety

The 2022 Hyundai Elantra is already an affordable car to purchase, with a starting price of $21,245 for an Elantra SE. However, leasing the Elantra can cost just $189, with $3,199 down for those looking to save even more money. While that down payment may sound awful, it pales in comparison to the average down payment of $6,000.

Furthermore, you get a sedan that offers loads of options for your monthly payment. Specifically, consumers have a choice of seven different trim levels. However, optioning higher trims will likely push that lease amount above $189. Still, shoppers can choose a sensible Elantra SE, a sporty N model producing 276 horsepower, or an efficient Hybrid Blue model.

The 2022 Hyundai Sonata is an excellent opportunity for consumers looking to lease a cheap, dependable sedan

Hyundai’s four-door sedans are celebrated for their many sensibilities. The Sonata is no different. The Hyundai model boasts a similar variety to the comparable Elantra. Specifically, the Sonata offers affordable base trims, sporty N Lines, and an extremely efficient Hybrid Blue model. If you’re aiming for efficiency, Hyundai Sonata Hybrid Blue achieves 52 mpg combined.

However, if you’re looking for a sub-$200 lease, the base model SE is a great option. The Sonata SE is still pretty efficient, with 28 mpg city, 38 mpg at highway speeds, and a combined 32 mpg. Also, the SE is an Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) Top Safety Pick and has a five-star National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) rating.

Hyundai’s hybrids achieve some of the highest fuel economy ratings in the segment. However, the Hyundai Ioniq Hybrid is head and shoulders above the rest, with an admirable 59 mpg overall. The Ioniq Hybrid is comfortable, albeit TrueCar says it lacks a bit of refinement and performance. Still, the Hyundai Ioniq Hybrid can be yours for $199 and $2,499 down if you’d instead lease it.

Whichever Hyundai sedan you opt for, you’ll likely be glad you did

Hyundai’s sedans offer excellent value for money. However, if you don’t want to purchase a sedan, leasing an Ioniq Hybrid, Sonata, or Elantra is a solid choice. The sedans promise efficiency, reliability, and value. If you want a true hybrid, you might consider the Ioniq; if you want tenure, perhaps the Elantra. Either way, Forbes thinks you’re likely to be happy with your lease in the face of bloated dealership pricing.
