Wisconsin man has several felonies after attacking police and driving 70 miles per hour in a residential area
We’ve said it before, and we’ll say it again: nothing good comes from trying to evade a traffic stop. Naturally, when doing this, suspects get in much more trouble than they initially would have. This happened recently in Wisconsin when police officers tried to stop a driver, and he did everything in his power to get away. This all led to several charges.
Evading the traffic stop is the worst thing this man could have done
Naturally, most people don’t want the police to pull them over. There are many reasons this can make people nervous, even though police do this to keep the community safe. However, according to WEAU 13 News, one Wisconsin man took things too far and ended up with several charges when trying to evade a traffic stop.
The report says that at around 5:50 p.m. on October 19th, police officers tried to conduct a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by Kegan Fogleson. However, he refused to pull over and then led the officers on a high-speed chase. Throughout the chase, Kegan covered three towns: Cleveland, Fairchild, and the village of Fairchild. At times, his speed reached 70 miles per hour despite being in residential areas.
Additionally, the report says that he threw items from the vehicle toward the squad cars as a way to get out of the traffic stop. This includes a “hatchet-like object.” Apparently, he also rammed into the squad car on several occasions. Before it was over, he escaped to a home before finally surrendering and being arrested.
The police took him to the Eau Claire County Jail. He’s facing several charges, including suspicion of felony operator knowingly fleeing/eluding, felony reckless endangerment, negligent operation of motor vehicle, obstructing/resisting, felony bail jumping, and a felony arrest warrant from Dodge County. Notably, he was already wanted for a felony.
