Will UFO Files Finally Be Released? Joe Rogan Reacts to Donald Trump’s Order

Popular YouTube podcaster Joe Rogan discussed the possibility of classified UFO/UAP and alien files being released after U.S. President Donald Trump’s assurance. Rogan discussed the interesting topic with author and journalist Michael Shellenberger on the Joe Rogan Experience.

President Trump revealed last month that he will direct U.S. agencies to “begin the process of identifying and releasing” files related to aliens and UFOs. Barack Obama also spoke about the topic on a podcast recently, saying that he believes aliens are real. He said:

“They’re real, but I haven’t seen them, and they’re not being kept in Area 51.

“There’s no underground facility unless there’s this enormous conspiracy and they hid it from the president of the United States.”

However, Obama clarified later, in an Instagram post, “I saw no evidence during my presidency that extraterrestrials have made contact with us. Really!”

The Pentagon released videos in the past of U.S. Navy fighter jets intercepting unknown saucer-shaped crafts traveling at high speed. Notably, fighter pilots viewing the crafts expressed awe at their aerodynamic capabilities.

Joe Rogan spoke on the topic of whether the government would actually release classified information on aliens and UFOs, or simply release baseless claims to conceal the truth.

Shellenberger said it was great that this topic was receiving significant attention, which would help achieve transparency. He said:

“Whatever you think about the phenomenon, this is amazing. I mean, the president just said he’s going to release all these things.

“After decades of saying we’re not interested in this. We’re not following this. We’re shutting down [Project] Blue Book, you know, there’s nothing. I mean, that right there is I think amazing.”

Joe Rogan describes it as theater, stating that until “something really comes out, this is just another distraction (hinting at Epstein files).” Shellenberger responded, saying:

“I just think we’ve been asking for more transparency like we had in this very brief period in the mid-70s with the church committee hearings.”

He added:

“We got a lot of Epstein files. Yes, there’s some missing, but we got JFK files, Amelia Earhart files, and now we’re going to get some UFO files. Is it going to be everything? Of course not. Like, there’s just no way.

“But I don’t think we should be happy that there is an acknowledgement that there are a lot of government files and that there is some commitment to release them, because I do think it’s easier to get new Epstein files released after you have some Epstein files released than if you have none, and I feel the same way about UFOs.”

Shellenberger continued, stating the president’s order to release the files is a positive step towards transparency, but that didn’t hold him back from saying that it could mislead people. He said:

“I think the good news is. Look, the president has said he wants this. We’ve identified a bunch of documents, identified a bunch of videos and films. Are they going to withhold stuff? Are they going to mislead? Probably. But that’s been the story for 80 years.”
