Performance cars are popular for a reason. Not only are they fast, but they’re a fun, reliable drive. Dodge creates some of the best performance cars. Many car enthusiasts can’t afford their often-hefty price tags. However, with a recent discount program on three of Dodge’s best vehicles, more Challengers, Chargers, and Durangos may be parked in American garages than ever before.

Boost the industry and hype performance vehicle sales

The automobile industry took some blows in recent decades. Automakers have had to readjust their lineups, marketing approaches, and sales. Taking the cue, Dodge has created more of the vehicles people love, and now, at better prices than ever.

The automaker recently began a discount program called Power Dollars, reports PR Newswire. Until the end of 2019, buyers can use the Power Dollars discount on three of Dodge’s most popular models, getting $10 off for every horsepower the model has. The discount applies to the Dodge Challenger, Charger, and Durango.

According to Motor Trend, Charger sales are up 9%. The model is in line to dominate the large car segment in the U.S. for the third year in a row. Seeing record sales, the Durango is also having its best year since 2005. With Power Dollars, Dodge hopes to drive sales for these popular models, reports The Drive. The automaker’s goal is to put a half-billion horsepower in the hands of car enthusiasts by 2020.

Not only does this promotion help sales in a struggling market, but it’s also a chance for Dodge to allow current model owners to upgrade their favorite performance cars. The Power Dollars program can get people into sportier and more expensive trims. The more horsepower, the bigger the discount.

Exactly how much could you save?

The Power Dollars program is limited to the Challenger, Charger, and Durango, but it applies to every trim — no limitations. Here are a few examples of the savings through this promotion:

Challenger

Discounts are offered on every new Challenger, including SXT, SXT AWD, GT, GT AWD, RT, RT Scat Pak, Hellcat, and Hellcat Redeye models. The least powerful Challenger comes with 305 hp and offers a $3,050 discount, while the Challenger Hellcat Redeye comes with 797 hp and a $7,970 discount.

Charger

Discounts are offered on all new Chargers, including SXT, SXT AWD, GT, R/T, R/T Scat Pack, and Hellcat trim levels. Even on the cheapest Charger (and least pricy vehicle on the list), the promotion gives a discount of $2,920, reports Cars.com. The Charger Hellcat has a discount of more than $7,000.

Durango

Discounts are applied to every new Durango, including SXT, GT, Citadel, R/T, and SRT models. This provides between $3,000 and $5,000 off. The Durango’s top trim, the SRT, has a markdown of $4,750.
