There could be a 2021 Jeep Wrangler for everyone. There is electric power, new V8 power, and more. The most notable new models include the Jeep Wrangler 4xe and the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392, but which one is better?

What’s new for the 2021 Jeep Wrangler?

You can be green with the new 2021 Jeep Wrangler 4xe hybrid, or you can hear your engine roar with the 2021 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392. The Rubicon 392 has a 6.7-liter V8 engine that provides 470 hp and 470 lb-ft of torque. According to AutoBlog, it will accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 4.5 seconds, which is 40% faster than the V6 powered Rubicon.

This may hurt the fuel economy for the Rubicon 392, but the 4xe is expected to get 50 MPGe. It’s powered by a 2.0-liter turbo, electric motor, and battery pack to provide 375 hp and 470 lb-ft of torque. Also, it should get an estimated 31 miles on its electric charge. For the first time ever, the Jeep Wrangler can be extremely quiet as a hybrid and has an excellent fuel economy.

The standard Wrangler engine is a 3.6-liter V6 option with 285 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque. You can upgrade to the 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four engine for 270 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque. Also, the 3.0-liter turbodiesel V6 provides 260 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque.

New 2021 Wrangler features

The Jeep Wrangler got a few new features to battle the Ford Bronco, which currently lacks a hybrid and V8 engine. Jeep is now offering the Selec-Trac full transfer case with more trim options. It acts as a full-time system, almost like an all-wheel drive setup that automatically switches from two to four-wheel drive as needed.

Plus, the Rubicon now comes standard with Off-Road Plus. This allows you to drive at higher speeds and crawl over rocks a little faster while the locking rear differential is engaged.

It also provides peak performance settings for sandy terrain. If this feature sounds familiar, it’s because it was borrowed from the Jeep Gladiator Mojave.

The 2021 Wrangler Sahara and Rubicon models will get the same forward-facing camera from the Gladiator too. It sits behind the grill and helps you see obstructions on the trail more clearly. This is helpful when the hood blocks your view.

New 2021 Wrangler Tech

The interior of the 2021 Jeep Wrangler is a little nicer too. The Wrangler Sport S now gets the optional Technology Group package as standard equipment. It includes a 7.0-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, automatic climate control, a 7.0-inch TFT color display in the gauge cluster, a SiriusXM subscription, and more.

If you get a Wrangler with a 7.0-inch screen, you will also get the special tire-fill alert system. It automatically honks the horn when your tires are filled to their optional tire pressure. It honks three times if the pressure is too high or too low.

It’s hard to say which 2021 Jeep Wrangler is best. Each model fills a different variety of needs. The Jeep Wrangler 4xe is perfect for peaceful camping, and the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392 is the most powerful wrangler ever, the 3.0-liter turbodiesel turns up the torque, and more. You’ll have to consider what you want for daily commuting and adventuring.
