Firstly, the 2022 Toyota Sienna minivan is available in six trim levels. They are LE, XLE, XSE, XLE Woodland Edition, Limited, and Platinum. Prices range from $36,500 to upward of $50,000, depending on how many features customers want. Furthermore, every Sienna model comes with the same hybrid powertrain. Firstly, Edmunds thinks the best version of the 2022 Toyota Sienna is the XLE model. Starting at $41,790, the minivan is available with seven or eight-passenger seating for the same price. Furthermore, the publication loves that it adds a lot of comfort and convenience features without adding a lot of cost. Additionally, more options open up with the XLE model, like a rear entertainment system.

Every Sienna XLE is a big step up from the base model for only a few thousand dollars extra. For example, keyless push-button ignition, keyless entry, a power rear liftgate, four-zone automatic climate control, a power-adjustable passenger seat, a sunroof, an eight-speaker audio system, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, simulated leather upholstery, heated front seats, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel all unlock for the XLE trim level. In addition, an optional XLE Plus package adds black roof rails, wireless charging, a 12-speaker JBL audio system, and an integrated navigation system.

Car and Driver loves the Sienna XSE

Although experts sometimes agree on which version of a vehicle is best, that’s not true for the 2022 Toyota Sienna. Car and Driver‘s favorite version of the minivan is the XSE model. Moreover, it’s one step up from the XLE trim level recommended by Edmunds. C/D calls the XSE trim “sporty” and loves that it comes with 20-inch wheels, “more aggressive” bumpers, and sport front seats. Additionally, in-dash navigation and captain’s chairs make it a little more desirable.

There are only a few upgrades when you upgrade from the XLE to the XSE trim. Mostly, the differences are purely cosmetic—for example, the black exterior trim, mesh grille, and different seats. However, the feature upgrades are identical to those in the XLE Plus package. As a result, buyers who dislike the appearance of the XSE model can buy a Sienna XLE with the Plus package for nearly the same minivan.

The best 2022 Toyota Sienna model

In conclusion, every version of the Toyota Sienna minivan is a viable option. However, some are better than others. We think the XLE trim level is the best choice in terms of value. Combining safety and convenience features with a reasonable price is always outstanding. Although the XSE trim looks nice, we’re not sure the appearance is worth an extra $3,000. Especially when the comfort and convenience features are available for the XLE with the XLE Plus package. Which 2022 Toyota Sienna model do you think is best?
