As Ford’s small truck, the 2023 Maverick has been immensely popular. It’s proved that folks are willing to spend money on a compact pickup, even if it has a hybrid engine. But, if you’ve placed an order for the Ford Maverick, it’s entirely possible that you haven’t received your truck yet. So, what exactly is going on with the Ford Maverick orders?

Can you still place a 2023 Ford Maverick order?

Unfortunately, if you want a 2023 Ford Maverick, you can no longer order one as of January 2023. It seemed like as soon as Ford opened up orders for its small truck, it was forced to close them. And that is because demand is so high, with supply unable to keep up.

The fact that orders closed so quickly is understandably frustrating. But even if you have ordered a Maverick, you might feel in the dark about the status of your truck. Surely, the Blue Oval is excited that this compact pickup is so popular. At the same time, consumers have plenty of complaints about the status of their Maverick order.

The 2023 Ford Maverick is too popular for its own good

Much like the 2022 Maverick, the 2023 Maverick has been a hit. And that is especially true for the Ford Maverick Hybrid. In terms of orders, the Maverick Hybrid makes up 73% of total sales. But, the production capacity tops out at 35%. The base XL trim represents about 25% of orders, and production capacity is limited to just 15%.

Those numbers help explain what’s going on with Ford Maverick orders. According to Ford Authority, the Blue Oval is taking steps to help mitigate issues with production and supply. But things still seem to be fairly backed up.

When is the 2023 Maverick going into production?

The 2023 Ford Maverick went into production in November 2022. Trucks started shipping out the following month and have continued to be delivered ever since. Apparently, if your truck has not been built yet, you can still change what all your compact pickup comes equipped with. As supply chain issues get resolved, making changes might speed up your Maverick’s build.

In the past, supply and demand hit the spray-in bed liner hard. But now, if you get the optional Cargo Management System, you can essentially get that feature for free.

The Tremor package remains popular

One of the big changes for the 2023 Maverick is the addition of the Tremor package. This option makes the Maverick a fairly capable off-road truck. Even though it rides on a unibody platform. With the Tremor package, you get a revised all-wheel drive system, a one-inch lift, and some other off-road goodies.

Because the Ford Maverick Tremor is so popular, it is also getting hit with supply issues. So if you have placed a 2023 Ford Maverick order for that configuration, it might be awhile before you get it.
