First, the 2023 BMW X7 is available in three trim levels. According to Edmunds, starting with the bottom of the lineup, the X7 xDrive40i costs $78,845. However, it’s the only member of the lineup that is available for less than six figures. The M60i starts at $104,095, and the Alpina XB7 at $145,995. Fortunately, even the cheapest trim is a well-equipped, luxurious model. It comes with a standard turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six cylinder engine making 375 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque. However, upper trims have an upgraded turbocharged 4.4-liter V8, good for 523 hp and 553 lb-ft.

The cheapest X7 comes with a self-leveling air suspension, 21-inch wheels, adaptive LED headlights, roof rails, a power dual-section tailgate, remote start, a panoramic sunroof, four-zone automatic climate control, remote vehicle monitoring, simulated leather upholstery, multi-contour heated front seats, and heated front armrests/steering wheel. Moreover, that doesn’t include the interior technology and safety features included with every X7:

  • 14.9-inch infotainment touchscreen
  • Head-up display
  • Navigation
  • Apple CarPlay/Android Auto
  • Wireless device charging
  • 10-speaker sound system
  • Forward collision warning
  • Blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert
  • Lane departure warning
  • Front/rear parking sensors
  • Automatic high beams

Despite being expensive, the 2023 BMW X7 is actually very well-equipped. Outside of just basic features, it adds so much more to the lower trim. Along with the upgraded engine, every X7 M60i has 22-inch wheels, M sport brakes, blue calipers, an M sport exhaust, rear-wheel steering, leather upholstery, soft-close doors, rear power window sunshades, infotainment gesture control, a surround-view camera, an automated parking system, and a 16-speaker Harman Kardon surround-sound audio system.

At such a high price, it’s nice to have more than just infotainment and technology features. An air suspension, performance brakes, and much more make the BMW X7 drive like a $100,000 SUV should. This three-row SUV can fit passengers and cargo, and it is still a joy to drive with its potent engine, smooth ride, and impressive interior.

2023 BMW X7 optional packages

In addition to the many standard features, the $100,000 and higher three-row luxury SUV comes with most features from optional packages. Customers who wish to do so can add even more to their X7 with these packages. For example, the Driver Assistance Professional package adds adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, collision detection with automatic lane-change assist, and forward cross-traffic alert.

Next, the Climate Comfort package includes ventilated front seats, heated front and rear seats, and five-zone automatic climate control. Lastly, the Executive package adds a panoramic sunroof with embedded LED lighting, massaging front seats, heated/cooled cupholders, and a glass shifter/controls.

In addition, a few features are available optionally without purchasing an entire package. Customers can buy the following items individually for any version of the 2023 BMW X7:

  • 23-inch wheels
  • Second-row captain’s chairs
  • 20-speaker Bowers and Wilkins surround sound
  • Upgraded trailer hitch

2023 BMW X7: 2 trims over $100,000

In conclusion, the 2023 BMW X7 comes in three trim levels, two of which start over $100,000. Mostly, these models come with much of the same equipment. The highest trims get most of the features from lower trims, almost all the contents of the optional packages, and more. Starting with the M60i, in particular, gets everything and the kitchen sink, including a beefier engine and better performance components.
