It seems like each car brand is stepping up its game with each new year. Even so, Toyota remains as drivers’ first choice for a reliable car. Toyota has an impressive portfolio, but you might be wondering, what is Toyota’s best-selling vehicle?

Toyota vehicles are among the most popular options in nearly every vehicle category. What may surprise you is that the carmaker’s best-selling car in 2020 is the RAV4. The 2020 RAV4 has considerably outpaced its rivals this year. Furthermore, Toyota’s top-seller now being an SUV shows how much buyers’ preferences have changed.

According to recent data from  TTAC, the 2020 RAV4 is the best-selling crossover in the U.S. with 119,214 units sold. Just what makes this Toyota so popular, you might ask? Well, with the RAV4, you get unmatched flexibility.

Toyota first introduced the newest generation of the RAV4 for 2019. The current RAV4 features a 203-hp 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine and an eight-speed automatic transmission. We recognize the RAV4, especially for its long list of standard features, comfortable ride quality, and fuel economy. Additionally, Toyota made things more exciting by introducing an off-road-oriented RAV4 model.

The regular RAV4 has a fuel economy rating of up to 30 mpg overall, which is exceptional for the class. If fuel economy is a greater priority for you, there’s also a hybridized version. You might even want to consider the all-new RAV4 Prime, which is a plug-in hybrid.

Toyota’s Camry also remains one of its most popular cars. The 2020 Camry is the best-selling car in its class, with 79,046 units sold by the end of Q3. Some might think that the Camry is overrated, but there are still plenty of reasons why people still like this car.

Critics have praised the 2020 Camry for its smoothness and responsive handling. This sedan comes standard with the same four-cylinder that the RAV4 does. There’s also an available 301-hp 3.5-liter V6. Most drivers will be happy with the base engine’s power, but the optional engine obviously offers more force. The Camry also is a standout for its fuel efficiency and is available as a hybrid.

The 2020 Corolla rounds out the top three

Toyota’s Corolla also demonstrates that the carmaker has done relatively well, considering the ongoing pandemic. Like the other models on this list, the Corolla shines for its reliability and practicality. The Corolla is particularly enticing because of its affordable price point.

The Corolla isn’t the most exciting compact car you can get, but it’s a pleasant ride nonetheless. It comes with a 139-1.8-liter four-cylinder and a CVT. For a slightly quicker experience, the Corolla has a 2.0-liter four-cylinder . The most notable highlight for this model is that Toyota finally gave the Corolla the hybrid treatment too.
