EVs are quickly becoming the future of the automobile industry. More automakers are developing and producing EVs to compete within the market. One of the main things automakers are competing on is range. Range anxiety is a real thing some EV owners deal with. Here’s a look at the top five EVs with the longest range as of early 2022.

5. Mercedes-Benz EQS 450 is not the EV with the longest range

According to iSeeCars, this brand-new EV from BMW ranks fifth in range. It has a minimum range of 340 miles and a maximum of 350 miles. And this BMW won’t be cheap. It starts at just over $100,000 and can top out at about $120,000. The electric motors can generate up to 516 hp and 631 lb-ft of torque.

What’s more impressive about the EQS 450 is the interior. Its high-tech features include a 56-inch glass panel containing three separate touch screen displays. There are two 12.3-inch touch screens, one for the driver and the other for the passenger. Then there’s a 17-inch touch screen in the center of it all. The head-up display also uses augmented reality technology.

4. Tesla Model 3

The Model 3 comes in fourth place, with a max range of 358 miles and a minimum of 272 miles. Since the Model 3 is supposed to be an affordable Tesla, it’s also the most affordable option with the highest range numbers. It starts at about $46,500, and it can top out at about $59,000. Its motors can get up to 450 hp and 471 lb-ft of torque.

Compared to a regular sedan, the Model 3 is pretty high-tech as it features a 15-inch touch screen and many of the cool features that Tesla owners are entitled to. However, the Model 3 is notably more basic overall than the other cars on this list.

3. Audi e-tron S

The e-tron S is in third place with a max range of 372 miles and a minimum of 344 miles. This Audi currently only comes with one powertrain option, and its electric motors generate 496 hp and 717 lb-ft of torque. Since it’s an Audi, it won’t be cheap, with a starting price of about $85,000 and topping out at about $90,000.

In addition to having a luxurious and high-tech interior, the e-tron S is notable for having the most range of any electric SUV. The other cars on this list are all sedans.

2. Tesla Model S

The Model S is in second place, with 405 miles of range, though it’ll dip down to 396 miles in some cases. Since this Tesla is a luxury car, it’ll start at about $100,000, and it can cost up to $135,000.

The best part about this Tesla is its Plaid trim. With that trim equipped, the Model S gets over 1,020 hp and 1,050 lb-ft of torque. This will allow the Tesla to be extremely fast, as it’ll accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 1.99 seconds.

1. Lucid Air is the EV with the longest range

The EV with the most range right now is the Lucid Air, as it has a max range of 520 miles and a minimum range of 471 miles. Its electric motors will also generate up to 1,080 hp and 738 lb-ft of torque. However, these impressive specs will not be cheap. The Air starts at $139,000 and can cost up to $169,000. But at least you won’t have to worry about range anxiety as much.
