What is Honda Sensing in the Honda Pilot?

All 2022 Honda Pilot models come standard with Honda Sensing. Honda Sensing is a suite of driving assistance features that enhance the safety and convenience of the Pilot. Features in Honda Sensing include a road departure mitigation system, adaptive cruise control, a collision mitigation braking system, and a lane-keeping assist system.

The road departure mitigation system prevents you from driving off the road. If the system detects that you went over lane lines without turning on your turn signal, it will provide steering and braking assistance as needed to help you return to your lane.

The adaptive cruise control enables you to use cruise control while safely staying behind other cars. If the system detects that you’re getting too close to a car ahead of you, it will slow down and utilize the brakes as needed.

The collision mitigation braking system is an extra layer of protection for avoiding severe damage from collisions. If the system detects that a frontal collision is imminent, it will apply the brakes to minimize the damage.

The lane-keeping assist system is a great feature to have for long highway drives. While driving on mundane highway straightaways for extended periods of time, it’s easy to lose your focus and drift out of the lane. The lane-keeping assist system prevents this by gently adjusting the steering to keep you properly centered in your lane.
