While there is no doubt that Michael Jordan was king of the basketball court, it turns out he may also be the king of cars. We have done some research and uncovered the most unique and impressive cars in Jordan’s collection. These might not be the most valuable cars in his collection, but they are coolest and most interesting.

Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 40th Anniversary Edition

Much like Michael Jordan as a player, this limited-edition vehicle has been recognized as one of the most collectible Corvette’s ever produced. With only 448 of these vehicles made and only 220 designated as Anniversary Edition design, it is a truly unique addition to Jordan’s collection.

There is no denying that the specifications for this vehicle are impressive: all-aluminum construction, four overhead camshafts, Multi-Port Fuel Injection, and no distributor but instead ignition via a four-coil “direct-fire” system.

Like Jordan’s power on the court, this Corvette was a powerhouse for its time. With this model, standard horsepower went from 245 to 300 horsepower.

Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren 722 Edition

When speed is the name of the game, you need a player like Jordan on your team and a car like the SLR McLaren 722 Edition on the road. This Mercedes-Benz features 650 horsepower and a 0-to-60 mph time of just 3.6 seconds.

The car’s name is also inspired by excellence. According to Car and Driver, the 722 references the Mille Miglia win by Stirling Moss and Denis Jenkinson in the M-B 300 SLR in 1955.

Aston Martin DB7 Volante and Aston Martin DB9 Volante

Don’t worry, Jordan isn’t missing out on a model – there is no Aston Martin DB8 Volante. The DB in the name represents the initials of David Brown, the owner of the Aston Martin for a significant part of its history.

The company intentionally skipped the DB8 because it worried it would indicate the car had a V-8 engine, which was not the case. The DB9 comes with a V-12.

Jordan certainly deserved a car as unique as him – and that’s what he got with the DB7. It was special ordered just for him.

Chevrolet C4 Corvette

While Michael Jordan was universally loved as a basketball player, the Chevrolet C4 Corvette has a more mixed following. Some people love it and others hate it. This iteration of the Corvette was a complete overhaul from previous models.

Porsche 911

This model has been manufactured by Porsche since 1963. This two-door, high-performance sports car has long been considered one of the purest sports cars on the planet. Michael Jordan’s love for this vehicle can be seen in his Air Jordan shoe line. The Air Jordan 6, designed by Tinker Hatfield, was inspired by the Porsche 911.

While it has gone under continuous development over time, the core concept of the car has remained the same, with a rear-mounted flat-six engine and all around independent suspension.

Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano

Consistent with Jordan’s worth as a player, this car is Ferrari’s most expensive offering. It features a V-12 engine and a front-engine with aluminum construction.

This car represents the first use of an aluminum chassis in a Ferrari GT car, resulting in more rigidity and reduced weight. The power under the hood is complemented by a luxurious, leather-trimmed interior. This car was also owned by another great athlete, Floyd Mayweather.

While Jordan may be retired from his time on the court, he certainly hasn’t retired his love of cars. Keep an eye on Michael Jordan’s car collection to see what he adds next. There is no doubting his good taste and love of speed and power.
