Even after all these years, Cadillac SUVs still appeal to many consumers. This is mostly due to Cadillac’s signature striking style on the outside and the lavishness available on the inside. The legacy car brand has recently expanded its luxury SUV lineup so we’ve created this list to help you shop between models.

2020 Cadillac Escalade

The famed Cadillac Escalade is embedded in pop culture. There are tons of songs about the SUV and it’s been the center of countless music videos. In 2020, the Escalade continues to sell pretty well, even amid the coronavirus pandemic. Cadillac didn’t make any major changes for this year’s model compared to 2019.

Overall, the Escalade feels smooth but heavy on the road. This beastly SUV gets its power from a 420-horsepower 6.2-liter V8 engine that’s mated with a 10-speed automatic transmission. The Escalade is also marginally above average as far as fuel economy goes. But more notably, the Escalade has been a trendsetter when it comes to lavish interiors.

The Escalade comes standard with a laundry list of desirable interior features but this SUV typically inspires some insane redesigns on the inside. Its leather upholstery is attractive and the available tech features make the car cabin even better. Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and wireless charging all come standard.

2020 Cadillac XT6

The XT6 isn’t as upscale compared to its peers. It’s not very athletic either. But, it does come with lots of tech features One of the XT6’s stronger suits is its 3.6-liter V6 engine that produces 310-hp. The XT6 has smooth ride quality and handles itself well in most instances.

Like the Escalade, the XT6 can seat up to seven people comfortably. Another bonus here is that its third row is spacious, but that does impact the available cargo space. Along with its many standard tech features, the XT6 also comes with a nice sunroof.

2020 Cadillac XT5

Surprisingly enough, the XT5 crossover holds its own well as one of the smaller models in the Cadillac SUV lineup. This is mostly because it has a much better reliability rating based on data from Consumer Reports. The XT5 now features two smooth engine options. There’s the new turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with a 237-hp and the traditional 310-hp V6 engine. The XT5 is a practical and enjoyable ride overall.

On the inside, the XT5 has earned mixed reviews. While its interior cabin is attractive, the combination of different materials takes away from that. The headroom is also lacking, especially in the rear seats.

2020 Cadillac XT4

Cadillac’s all-new XT4 has earned high marks for its handling, braking, and comfort levels on the inside. However, it’s disappointing for a new model. Its 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine rides smoothly, but it’s too loud at times. CR also gave this model a below-average predicted reliability score.
Another con on the XT4 is that not many advanced safety features come standard on the model. This is a disadvantage for such a new vehicle, but especially for a luxurious one. You might want to consider other models in this class like the Lexus UX.
