Whether you are a fan of the Ford Mustang or not, chances are you’ve hopped on the bandwagon of making fun of the EcoBoost. Even in the Mustang community, the EcoBoost seems to be the butt of all of the jokes. There are plenty of reasons while people tease Mustang EcoBoost, but maybe it’s time we acknowledge the car for how good it really is.

An affordable sports car

There is just something about the Ford Mustang that people love. Whether you are invested in the car’s long heritage or just love some good old American muscle, the Mustang is a dream car for children and adults alike. The EcoBoost is one of the most affordable versions of the car that you can buy brand new. In fact, you can get a Mustang EcoBoost for around $26,000 right off the dealership lot, making it one of the most affordable sports cars on the market.

An actually practical sports car

Muscle cars with big engines can provide impressive power, but they aren’t always affordable or practical. The Mustang EcoBoost may not have an impressive-sound V8 engine under the hood, but that also means it isn’t a total gas guzzler. The Ford Mustang is spacious and practical enough to be an excellent daily driver. Because the EcoBoost model offers a more responsible fuel economy, it makes the car even that much better.

Maybe there is a replacement for displacement

What people seem to hate the most about the EcoBoost mustang is it doesn’t have a large displacement motor resting under the hood. This is part of the reason that your average muscle car enthusiast might dismiss the car altogether, but in today’s day and age, you don’t need a big engine to make power. While the EcoBoost isn’t the fastest car on the market, it has some decent performance for a muscle car.

The EcoBoost won’t necessarily leave you disappointed when you step on the gas, either. While it doesn’t offer the crazy acceleration of models boasting the Coyote engine, it does provide a decent amount of get-up-and-go. This Mustang can go from 0 – 60 mph in a responsive 5.6 seconds. Less impressively, it offers a quarter-mile time of around 14.1 seconds.

So the Mustang EcoBoost isn’t the best performance sports car on the market. It doesn’t provide any impressive amount of power, but that’s part of what makes it a practical sports car that you can still rely on for your daily commute. The Mustang EcoBoost might not live up to what most people think of when it comes to a muscle car, but it is far from a bad option for vehicle.
