The Rivian R1T electric pickup truck has more horses than most pickup trucks. Even the TRX can’t compare to the R1T when it comes to horsepower. Here’s what happens when a gas-powered Ram TRX challenges an electric R1T to a drag race.

Which truck is faster, the Rivian R1T or the Ram TRX?

The 2022 Rivian R1T Launch Edition makes 835 horsepower and 908 lb-ft of torque. The 2022 Ram 1500 TRX makes 702 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque. According to InsideEVs, the R1T has a top speed of 115 miles an hour. The TRX gets up to 118 miles per hour.

It takes the Rivian R1T 3.3 seconds to get from 0 to 60 miles per hour. The TRX takes about 3.7 seconds. Check out the R1T dusting the TRX in a drag race in the video above.

In the short video, two Edmunds test team drivers drag race the two quick trucks in the desert. The drivers raced twice. The Rivian R1T was the clear winner in both races.

The R1T has got the TRX beat when it comes to quickness. This clip should make you a believer if you didn’t believe that EVs could be more powerful than internal combustion engine vehicles. The TRX is an amazing pickup, but it’s no longer the quickest or most powerful truck on the market. Rivian has come for the crown.

The Hellcat engine has become legendary in the automotive industry. As a result, the TRX is admired by many auto and off-road enthusiasts. The truck isn’t just quick. It can also tear through trails and conquer off-road obstacles.

The 2022 Ram TRX starts at $77,780. It features 35-inch all-terrain tires and a Bilstein Black Hawk shock system. The off-road pickup truck gets a whopping 11.8 inches of ground clearance. The TRX knows how to party.
