Watch this Florida police officer get attacked by turkeys at a traffic stop
People tend to make jokes at Florida’s expense. If it’s not “Florida man,” it’s references to Jurassic Park. They cite alligators, giant mosquitoes, and ancient lizards. Well, this silly, dare we say goofy traffic stop doesn’t do much to refute the jokes and jests. A video shows a Florida police officer battling turkeys and a chicken while attempting to talk to a driver on the side of the road.
A police officer in Florida couldn’t make sense of his avian attackers– ‘I’m getting attacked by a chicken’
A video with nearly 33,000 likes shows a police officer from the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office in the middle of a traffic stop. Nothing out of the ordinary there. However, this traffic stop would prove pretty foul for the Florida police officer before long. Or should we say “fowl?” I’ll see myself out.
All joking aside, moments into the traffic stop, a turkey approached the officer. A literal turkey, not “hey, that guy is such a turkey.” And the bird wasn’t happy. At first, the officer doesn’t seem that concerned. “Quack, quack!” he said in an apparent attempt to talk the irritated turkey down. I’m no expert, but I’m pretty sure he was dipping into his duck rather than his turkey.
“Ho, ho, man! Oh, c’mon!” the Florida police officer said, now clearly concerned by the territorial bird and his many feathered friends. “Quack, quack!” he repeated as he kicked the angry birds. “Back up. Back up!” By this point, the officer had graduated from warning kicks to swiping at the turkey with his hat.
It was at this point that the officer decided both he and the motorist in the stopped Subaru were finished with the feathery fiends. “Here’s your stuff back,” he said to the Subaru driver as he returned her documentation. If the dash and body cam footage weren’t enough for laughs, he also made radio contact with his colleagues. “I’m getting attacked by a chicken right now,” he said.
