Fans of vans know the Honda Odyssey minivan. The Odyssey brings eight-passenger utility, a powerful V6, and tons of doodads like grocery hooks, fold-flat seats, an intercom, a built-in vacuum, and more. This time of year, though, you can usually find a deal at your local dealer as they try to get rid of leftovers and make room for the new models. But with a new complimentary service package, it could be worth it to wait for a 2023 Honda Odyssey.

The big news for 2023 is the new sport trim for the Odyssey minivan. Sure, we get the irony of a sport trim on a minivan, but it’s simply an appearance package.  It combines darkened taillights, black 19-inch wheels, with black trim around the grill, headlights, fog light surrounds, and more. Inside, the Sport trim adds black leather with red stitching and red interior lights to this special version of the EX-L package.

The Odyssey will continue in the U.S., but the Odyssey name gets the ax in other markets. The 2023 Odyssey is the first Honda to offer the new Honda Service Pass, which covers factory maintenance for two years or 24,000 miles.

If you like the value of the Odyssey, it hasn’t changed. In fact, with the new free Honda Service Pass, it may have gotten better for 2023. The base 2022 Honda Odyssey EX version starts at $37,340. The Odyssey is one of the few things in the world not to see a price increase this year. The Sport trim, however, will cost $41,210 and the destination charge is $1,295 for all trims.

The EX-L trim adds a lot of the stuff that you may want in a van. It adds 12-way power seats, power lumbar support to the front seats, a HomeLink garage opener, a power tailgate with a remote, and four more USB ports.

Is a Honda Odyssey worth buying?

There are reasons that the eight-passenger van has been a best seller since 2010. The Honda Odyssey got a major update in 2021 that updated its Magic Slide seats that are both removable and can fold nearly flat. Honda also updated the Honda Sensing controls to make them easier to use, which includes the lane departure warning and the Honda’s Collision Mitigation Braking System. The van comes with a 280-horsepower 3.5-liter V6 engine tied to a smooth 10-speed automatic.
