Video captures a car crashing off a hill and into a veterans hall for the second time this year

Freak accidents happen. Catastrophic mechanical failures or medical emergencies can turn a drive into a disaster. But two of the same bizarre incidents of a car crashing through a building’s roof in one year is something else entirely. Especially when camera footage captured the moment a car went flying through the roof of a veterans hall.
Veterans in Excelsior Springs, Missouri, are shocked by the second car to come crashing into their hall in 3 months
US military veterans who frequent the Clay-Ray Veterans Hall in Excelsior Springs, Missouri, are dealing with a fresh disaster. No, not failing HVAC or vandalism. It’s flying cars crashing through the building’s roof. Notice the plural verbiage. It’s true; the latest instance of a car careening off a road, down a hill, and into the veterans hall isn’t the only time.
Most recently, a silver sedan ran off the Excelsior Springs road and launched itself downhill. Unfortunately for Clay-Ray Veterans Hall, the building sits at the bottom of the incline, and right in the path of the crashing car. Video from a nearby stationary camera captured the car leaving the road, slicing through bushy trees, and into the hall roof.
The car itself was wedged into the roof, sticking halfway out of the structure. Miraculously, the driver suffered non-life-threatening injuries in the almost action movie-worthy wreck. Better yet, none of the hall’s typical visitors were in the building at the time of the early morning crash. However, the extent of the damage isn’t clear. Police believe speed was a factor, but aren’t sure if the driver was otherwise impaired.
Astoundingly, this isn’t the first time a car has come crashing through the roof of Clay-Ray Veterans Hall. In fact, it’s not even the first time this year. In February, a driver running from the police at speeds of up to 100 mph. The man, a Kansas sex offender, sent the car crashing into the hall’s roof, ending the chase right then and there. But, like this most recent case, he caused quite a bit of damage to the veterans hall.
Although the speed limit on that stretch of road is 25 mph, local authorities may want to make some adjustments to promote safety. Check out the video below!
