When U.S. News drafted its ‘Best Cars for Families in 2022’ list, the publication considered features important to families with children, including interior space, family-friendly features, and overall quality. It also included safety data, reliability ratings, and the opinions of the automotive press. U.S. News also sought out features that provide families with value and can make weekend road trips as comfortable as going out for dinner.

Inside the 2022 Honda Accord Hybrid

There are several reasons U.S. News picked the 2022 Honda Accord Hybrid as its choice for Best Hybrid and Electric Car for Families. First of all, the 2022 Honda Accord Hybrid offers interior dimensions more often found in big cars. Along with a large, comfortable back seat with best-in-class legroom, the LATCH points for child safety seats earned a Good+ rating from the IIHS for ease of use.

The new Accord Hybrid offers agile handling

The Honda Accord Hybrid offers enough performance to navigate highway onramps and rush hour traffic with its 212-horsepower gas/electric powertrain. It still achieves fuel economy ratings ranging from 41 to 48 MPG too. Additionally, Honda’s front strut and rear multi-link suspension systems provide agile handling, and the four-wheel disc brakes with ABS stop the car with enthusiasm.

How safe is the 2022 Honda Accord Hybrid?

The best cars for families should be designed to keep the families inside them safe. With a five-star crash test rating from the NHTSA and IIHS’s Top Safety Pick+ honors, the Honda Accord Hybrid is as safe as any car.

Furthermore, the Honda Accord Hybrid boasts a suite of driver-assist safety features, including brake assist, lane departure warning, and front crash prevention systems standard on all trim levels, which earned a ‘Superior’ rating from the IIHS.

The 2022 Honda Accord Hybrid provides exceptional value

Given Honda’s reputation for building quality automobiles, it is no surprise that the 2022 Honda Accord Hybrid receives high marks for reliability and quality. Consumer Reports even gave it a 4 out of 5 predicted reliability rating. Peace of mind comes from Honda’s three-year/36,000-mile limited warranty, a five-year/60,000-mile powertrain warranty, and an eight-year/100,000-mile hybrid battery warranty.

With MSRP ranging from $27,320 to $37,190 depending on trim level, the Accord Hybrid provides exceptional value. Moreover, when considering that the Accord Hybrid also finished in a three-way tie for first place in U.S. News’ overall ranking of hybrid and electric cars, its perceived value increases again.
