The Jeep Grand Cherokee is probably one of the best-known SUVs on the road. It’s great for both daily driving and off-roading. The Grand Cherokee has also been ranked one of the top 11 SUVs that won’t leave you stranded this winter, U.S. News recently reported.

Grand Cherokee: A history of greatness

Though the Grand Cherokee might be the most complained-about member of the Jeep family, the 2021 model brought highly anticipated changes. It received a larger wheelbase, which made the ride far more comfortable for passengers, and some of the tech has been updated.

However, the cargo space is nothing to brag about, and U.S. News complained about the firm ride. It still has some great points, though, especially for drivers who prefer a versatile vehicle.

According to U.S. News, “You should consider the 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee if you want a two-row SUV for family duty on the weekdays and playing in the dirt on the weekends.”

The 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee starts at $34,200. This is out of some consumers’ price range, but it’s a great choice for driving in questionable weather conditions for those who can afford it.

The Jeep Grand Cherokee can meet all your needs

The standard engine is a 295-hp V6. Drivers who prefer more power in their SUV have three V8 options. There’s a 360-hp, 5.7-liter V8; a 475-hp, 6.4-liter V8; and a 707-hp V8 that’s also available on the Dodge Challenger and Dodge Charger.

An eight-speed automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive come standard. There’s a 4WD option available for anyone who needs more control when driving in inclement weather.

For drivers who like speed, the Trackhawk model offers the 707-hp V8 engine. For off-road fans, the Trailhawk is a great choice to go on trails that would leave other SUVs shuddering in fear.

Jeep also offers Selec-Terrain and Selec-Trac traction management systems on higher trim levels. This feature is great for anyone looking to take their Grand Cherokee off-road, but it’s also perfect for riding in the snow.

You won’t mind the snow this year

Several options on the 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee make it ideal for driving in the snow. The Selec-Trac mode for snow helps your tires retain grip while navigating snowy conditions. The Grand Cherokee has more to offer, however.

Available heated seats and a heated steering wheel are great for keeping drivers and passengers warm, especially if you opt for leather seats. There are also optional rain-sensing windshield wipers that come on as soon as snow flurries hit your windshield.

The Grand Cherokee’s towing ability is another factor for anyone who lives in an area with snowy conditions. “With a towing capacity of 7,200 pounds, the Grand Cherokee can haul a trailer filled with snowmobiles or pull a car from a ditch,” U.S. News reported.

If you have to plow snow, want to take advantage of your snow day by having some fun, or need to help a neighbor, you won’t have to call a friend to bail you out. Just hop into your Grand Cherokee and take care of it yourself.

Though you can find a cheaper SUV, the Grand Cherokee stands out from the crowd thanks to the Jeep name and its history as an off-road vehicle. It may not be perfect, but when it comes to the snow, it’s close enough.
