American vehicles are actually making a significant impact on the battlefield. Here’s how Ukrainians are using Ford and Jeep American pickup trucks to protect their freedom.

The Jeep Gladiator is going to war in Ukraine

Ukranians are charging into battle on modified Jeep Gladiator pickup trucks. The war in Ukraine has raged on for over three months thus far. Ukranians are using everything at their disposal to fend off the Russian invasion, including American pickup trucks.

According to BusinessInsider.com, a team of international volunteers are helping Ukrainians defend their freedom by purchasing and modifying pickup trucks to use for battle. Volunteers and Ukrainian forces are modifying the Jeep Gladiator, Ford Ranger, Toyota Tundra, Toyota Hilux, Nissan Navara and many more trucks.

The Jeep Gladiator is rugged and capable. Volunteers are equipping pickup trucks in Ukraine with armor and weapons to attack invading Russian tanks. The team of international volunteers and Ukranians are primarily searching for used four-wheel drive diesel pickup trucks with 2.0+ liter engines priced under $6,000.

The Jeep Gladiator is far from the best daily driver in its segment, but it’s the perfect pickup for the brave Ukranians that are fending off the invasion. The 2022 Jeep Gladiator starts at $37,170. it uses a 3.6-liter V6 engine to make 260 horsepower. Jeep also offers a 3.0-liter V6 diesel engine. The midsize pickup truck gets 22 miles per gallon in the city and 28 miles per gallon on the highway.

Ukrainians used the Ford Ranger to fight Russian tanks

Ukrainians are also using the Ford Ranger to attack Russian tanks. The Ford Ranger is a reliable American midsize pickup truck that competes with segment leaders like the Toyota Tacoma and Honda Ridgeline.

The 2022 Ford Ranger starts at $25,930. It uses a 2.3-liter four-cylinder engine to make 270 horsepower. The Ranger achieves 20 miles per gallon in the city and 26 miles per gallon on the highway.

The new Ranger model can tow 3,500 pounds. It has a 1,905-pound max payload capacity. The Ford Ranger is agile and handles well. Both Ford and General Motors have recently donated vehicle fleets to Ukraine. According to CNBC, President Biden signed a $40 billion aid package for Ukraine.

Many Americans are feeling helpless in regards to the conflict in Ukraine. While there may not be ways to directly assist Ukranians, it’s comforting to know that American vehicles are being used to defend justice. That’s a major marketing flex for both Ford and Jeep. Hopefully American vehicles will continue to have a positive impact on the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
