Moreover, it’s worth noting that the LS base model is a fine choice if you only need a three-row SUV at a lower price. Like many other experts, we don’t think the LS and LT base trims are worth buying. For over $50,000, the features and technology are few and far between. We think opting for the mid-level models, RST and Z71 is the way to go. Higher trims are available in the Premier and High Country models, but we think they’re far too expensive for their value. According to Edmunds, the 2022 Chevy Tahoe RST is the trim level to buy. “That model gets a unique exterior and special seats, and it’s also the cheapest Tahoe you can get with the potent 6.2-liter V8 and Magnetic Ride Control adaptive suspension.” With these essential features plus much more, it’s obvious why the $59,995 version of the Tahoe is the one to buy.
Comparatively, the Premier and High Country models cost much more. However, the RST model adds 22-inch wheels, a unique front fascia, black exterior trim, and special RST seats with contrast stitching to an already well-equipped Tahoe. From lower trims, it carries over a hands-free liftgate, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, forward collision mitigation, lane-keeping assist, parking sensors, leather upholstery, Bose audio system, and more.
Car and Driver prefers the 2022 Chevy Tahoe Z71
Contrarily, Car and Driver like a more expensive version of the 2022 Chevy Tahoe. However, it isn’t much of a price difference for what it provides. The Z71 provides a rugged appearance and some off-road equipment, and C/D says it holds its value better than other versions of the full-size SUV. Adding off-road capability makes it a better trim than most others since it’s better on and off-road.

We’d also upgrade from the standard 5.3-liter V-8 to the newly available 6.2-liter V-8, which brings an extra 65 horsepower and 77 pound-feet of torque. 2022 Chevy Tahoe trims worth buying
In conclusion, only two 2022 Chevy Tahoe trims are worth buying. If you’re looking for a luxurious full-size SUV with excellent amenities, the RST is the simplest and most affordable answer. It’s got much more than lower trims without breaking the bank. Additionally, those interested in a high-performance off-road model with just as much luxury should get the Z71 model. It’s a cheaper version of the fully-loaded Premier or High Country trims.
