Twin Sisters Taken Into Custody After Throwing Chihuahua From Moving SUV in Florida

A dog has been thrown from a SUV in Florida. The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office arrested 54-year-old Tracey Fitzgerald and her twin sister, Stacey, last week. This followed their 16-year-old pet Chihuahua, Princess, being thrown out of the window of their moving SUV in Largo.

The contents of the arrest affidavit have been reported by WFLA. It stated that the incident occurred on January 22 when their vehicle was being driven down a Largo roadway by Tracey. The dog’s owner, Stacey, was in the passenger seat. The car was traveling at 50 mph when Tracey threw Princess out of the front passenger-side window.

The reason for the violent reaction remains unknown. The police also revealed a witness testimony, confirming that it was indeed Tracey who threw Princess out of the car. Significant force was used in committing the act, since Princess was thrown around five feet from the vehicle.

Princess was rushed to the Tampa Bay Veterinary Specialists & Emergency Care Center for treatment. However, the animal control report stated that Stacey refused to allow the staff to give Princess medical treatment and life-saving measures.

Princess’ Injuries and Veterinary Treatment

Weighing just three pounds, Princess ended up on the sidewalk and suffered major injuries, including a bleeding eye. The affidavit states that abrasions exposed “parts of her cranium” and that she suffered from “acute blunt force trauma.”

Motorbiscuit reported a similar incident. A woman from Orange County was arrested after her toddler fell onto the roadway from a moving vehicle in Fullerton. Police confirmed that the 19-month-old child was recovering from injuries in the hospital.

Footage of the incident has been obtained. It shows the SUV making a turn onto Malvern when the passenger-side door opens suddenly, and the child ends up on the street face down. Fortunately, the car following stops right on time. A woman, reportedly the child’s mother, then gets out from the driver’s side to lift the child and return to the vehicle.

Fullerton police identified the mother as Jacqueline Hernandez, 35, from La Habra, who was charged with child abuse. The video “depicts a small child falling from the passenger side of a moving vehicle at the intersection of N. Euclid St. and W. Malvern Ave,” the police said in a statement.

“An adult female is then seen running from the driver’s side of the SUV, picking up the child, and returning to the vehicle before the video ends.

“The female, identified as Jacqueline Hernandez, a 35-year-old resident of La Habra and the child’s mother, was placed under arrest and booked at the Fullerton City Jail for felony child abuse.”
