Drivers who pass you only to slow down are some of the most frustrating on the road. But this infuriating scenario probably plagues truck drivers more than the rest of us. One semi-truck driver had had it with a car that continually passed him and slowed down. So he invented the perfect revenge.

This driver later explained on Reddit, “As long as you do speed limit in front of me, I won’t care if you are in front of me.” But a shocking number of drivers pass him just to slow down. “As a trucker I come across slow drivers and when I pass them, they speed up to pass me and slow down again. Don’t know the logic behind it.”

The trucker finally struck back against a driver who passed him only to slow down

“Today I came across another one… I had to pass that guy 2 times and he was going for a 3rd time to slow down in front of me.” This trucker has a policy: “1 time could be just a mistake. Anything over 2 times isn’t.” The truck driver had finally had it. He thought, “Time to teach him a lesson.”

The truck driver knew he couldn’t do it alone. “I accelerated to catch up to a car in left lane (2 lane hwy) to block him in.” He explained why the scenario felt safe: “We were doing 58–59 in 55 zone. There were no more cars, only him, car in front of him and me.” With the slow car in the left lane, the truck had assembled the perfect storm. “Drove for few minutes and watched him thru my hood mirror screaming/raging.”

The driver likely planned to teach a lesson and let the driver go. But the sheer amount of road rage was a bit disconcerting. Then an even better opportunity presented itself. “Stars have aligned for me and there was cop entering hwy. I slowed down near on-ramp to 55 mph as our crazy driver floors it flipping me off.”

The end of the story was every bit as glorious as you’d expect: “Cop got his lights on and 30 seconds later had him pulled over. I kept going.”

This truck driver admitted that even professional truckers can be obnoxious drivers. When a commenter complained of a trucker running them off the road, our hero said to check the company on the side of the truck: “Google their name and make a complaint about that driver.” You can see the original Reddit post embedded below:
