Police traffic stops are reasonably common. Polic pull several million American over for these encounters every year. However, most situations don’t include mothers being arrested for driving their kids to sell drugs. Still, this is what arose recently in Illinois when the police pulled over a woman and her son for a traffic stop. She’s now facing multiple charges for the alleged crime.

The police were shocked by what they uncovered during this traffic stop

According to Our Quad Cities, officers from the Davenport Police Department’s Tactical Operations Bureau were patrolling recently and conducting a narcotics investigation. This took place on March 5th, and one of the vehicles they approached for a traffic stop had a 37-year-old mother and her 17-year-old son inside. She was driving a Jeep, and they were near the 100 block of Main Street.

For some reason, things escalated during the traffic stop, and the officers conducted a search of the vehicle. After a while, the police on the scene uncovered marijuana in various forms. This included 10 grams of marijuana wax, 11 THC vapes, and 147 grams of the substance in its regular state. Notably, they tested the substance with a NARTEC kit, which gave a positive reading.

Things became even worse during the traffic stop as more information came to light. After the police advised the woman of her Miranda rights, she admitted to driving her son from Macomb to Davenport so that he could sell the drugs to a friend. Naturally, the police arrested the woman, and she’s now facing charges of possession with intent to deliver. She also has charges for failure to affix a drug tax stamp and one count of using a juvenile to commit certain offences. As of the latest reporting, she’s in the Scott County Jail with a $20k bond.
