Ohio traffic stop recently led police to find a missing child from Texas
There are many reasons a driver could be pulled over by the police for a traffic stop. It could be over a road violation, or police officers may be conducting random checkpoints. Recently, police in Ohio pulled over a vehicle and uncovered a missing child from multiple states away. Now, the driver is behind bars, and there is an ongoing investigation.
Traffic stops help preserve public safety, and this is proof
According to Fox 8, Ohio police received word of a vehicle associated with a missing child on February 19th. They searched the area where the car was supposed to be but unfortunately came up empty-handed. However, the exact vehicle was seen later that day, leading the police officers to seek it out and conduct a traffic stop. This time, it was about 1:30 p.m. instead of the 2:22 a.m. time of the original search. The report says an adult driver and a juvenile were in the vehicle.
Naturally, the police officers on the scene spoke to both people who were occupying the vehicle during the traffic stop. Upon learning the child’s name, they could determine that it was the same one who had been missing out of Texas. From there, the Preble County Children Protective Services took custody of the child.
Following the traffic stop, the driver of the vehicle was taken to jail and now faces multiple charges. There is an ongoing investigation because it’s unknown what role the person played in the kidnapping, if any. Notably, traffic cameras assisted the police officers in locating the vehicle associated with the child from Texas going missing.
