Drivers have quite a bit to concern themselves with while on the road. There’s always the danger of car wrecks, and some people may be driving while under the influence. However, street takeovers are another danger and are prevalent in cities around the nation. Recently, police in Florida broke up a big one on the interstate, and multiple people are facing charges after several traffic stops.

It took several traffic stops to break up this interstate street takeover

According to ABC Action News, police in Collier County, Florida, received a call about multiple SUVs that were parked and blocking Interstate 75. This was on February 22nd at about 4:05 p.m. Once on the scene, the officers spotted multiple people watching a Porsche GT3 911 doing doughnuts on the interstate. They then tried to conduct a traffic stop, which is when they noticed several other high-performance vehicles doing similar activities.

The police successfully made the traffic stop on the Porsche and conducted an arrest on the shoulder of the interstate. Things didn’t stop there as the officers later saw a blue Porsche make an illegal U-turn. After pulling over the driver, they learned that the car was unregistered. The officers impounded the vehicle, and the driver received a notice to appear in court.

From there, the police observed a  2024 Blue Ferrari SF90 driving 148 miles per hour in a 70 MPH zone. Additionally, the car lacked registration tags. The driver led the police on a short chase before giving up and submitting to a traffic stop. This led to a citation and the Ferrari being impounded. There were more traffic stops before the crowd finally dispersed.
