Japanese automaker Toyota is producing an off-road version of its popular small hybrid SUV, the Toyota RAV4 Hybrid. The Toyota RAV4 Hybrid Woodland Edition is the automaker’s second Woodland Edition model after the Toyota Sienna Woodland Edition. The Sienna Woodland Edition is also a hybrid off-road vehicle. Toyota’s new RAV4 Hybrid Woodland Edition doesn’t just resemble an off-road SUV. It has real off-roading chops. The new SUV makes a strong case for hybrid off-road vehicles.

The 2023 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid Woodland Edition makes 219 horsepower and 163 lb-ft of torque thanks to its 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine and two electric motors. The RAV4 Hybrid Woodland Edition is more powerful than the gas-powered RAV4.

It features a TRD-tuned suspension. The hybrid off-road SUV also comes standard with Falken WILDPEAK all-terrain tires. It includes Trail Mode as well as standard all-wheel drive. The small hybrid off-road SUV comes with all-weather floor and cargo mats and mudguards.

Toyota has yet to release a price for the new hybrid SUV. MotorTrend claims that it will hit dealerships this fall.
