Thanks to their functionality and ride experience, large vehicles like SUVs and trucks have stolen market share from cars. And automakers, including Toyota, have introduced more SUVs and stepped up production to meet rising demand. But one sedan — 3 Best Toyota Sedans — still competes with trucks and SUVs in sales. In fact, it’s the best-selling vehicle that isn’t a truck or SUV.

With a starting price of around $26,000, the 2023 Toyota Camry is among the top 10 best-selling vehicles. According to Car and Driver, the Camry has recorded 66,037 sales this year, a 7% increase over the previous year. Thanks to its attractive features, it remains the top-selling sedan in America.

Unlike most competitors, whose engines have four cylinders, the Camry can be equipped with a 3.5-liter DOHC V6, harnessing 301 hp and 267 lb-ft of torque. It pairs with an eight-speed continuously variable automatic transmission, and it takes only 5.6 seconds to go from 0 to 60 mph.

Moreover, the 2023 Camry has a roomy interior and cargo space. For the hybrid model, Toyota relocated the engine from the trunk to below the rear seats to make more cargo and storage space.

It also has many tech features, including Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration.

The Camry is an all-around superb car, so it’s no surprise it’s America’s most popular sedan.

But two other cars are also seeing brisk sales this year.

Sales also favor the Tesla Model 3

Coming in closely behind the Camry is the Tesla Model 3 four-door sedan. So far, the EV’s sales have been estimated at around 63,000 units, which also puts it among the top 10 best-selling vehicles.

In terms of performance, the Model 3 boasts one of the longest ranges for an EV. On a full charge, the Model 3’s base trim, which is the most affordable, can go for 272 miles. The Performance trim has a range of 315 miles, and the Long Range boasts 358 miles. Experts recommend the last trim because it offers the best performance at a relatively affordable price of $53,130.

In addition, the Model 3 Long Range can from 0 to 60 mph in 5.1 seconds. And its ground clearance and battery placement under the floor give it excellent stability. Plus, its sufficient cargo space and relatively roomy interior help make the Tesla Model 3 a best-seller.

Honda produces the top-selling compact car, the 2023 Civic. It has sold 45,548 units. The Civic is increasing in popularity, as its sales are 10% higher than the previous year, Car and Driver reports.

Part of what makes this model great is its starting price of around $25,000. In addition, the Civic has many high-quality features and good performance.

The base model has a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine making 158 hp. Higher trim options get a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder producing 180 hp. The base trim needs only 7.5 seconds to go from 0 to 60 mph, while the range-topping Touring takes 7.3 seconds.

The 2023 Honda Civic also offers the latest advanced driver assists, such as adaptive cruise control and lane-keeping assist.

Overall, the Civic is worthy of its popularity.
