Kansas City tow truck driver busted for harassment

43-year-old Donald Adamson and his 66-year-old mother, Lanetter are facing multiple charges including 1 count of harassment, 4 counts of stealing, 4 counts of forgery, 3 counts of tampering with a motor vehicle, and more.

According to KCTV5, the tow truck driver and owner of Metro Tow and Transport targeted two KCTV5 employees with the help of his mom.

Police officers responded to the tow truck lot at 10th and Agnes, when the journalists were trapped. Several tow trucks surrounded a news truck, refusing to let them go. Eventually, the tow trucks moved and let the reporters leave.

The company is linked to forgery, stealing, and harassment with attempts to intimidate and silence vehicle owners for money. They allegedly illegally towed cars from numerous parking lots around the city.

The mother and son team acted in concert to allow the company to illegally tow vehicles without proper authorization, falsified required 4668 forms, and made it difficult for victims to retrieve their vehicles.

Kansas City police officers shared that they have received multiple complaints about Metro Tow during the last few years. Similar accusations were made by police in Platte County.

Adamson’s name is listed on about 250 of the 329 4669 Forms that investigators reviewed. Adamson and his mom remain in Jackson County Jail with an active warrant.
