A quick glance at the top four most reliable SUVs shows mostly expected models – but there is one surprise, too. Here’s why the 2022 Dodge Durango lands itself near the top of the list for the longest-lasting SUVs with the highest reliability ratings you can buy – and whether that’s enough to make you consider buying one.

The 2022 Dodge Durango is one of the most reliable new SUVs

The 2022 Dodge Durango is number four on iSeeCars‘ list of the most reliable, long-lasting SUVs. Why is that a surprise? The Durango feels more like a super-fast muscle car with its V8 engine and sleek and sporty exterior. In comparison with the more conventional SUVs on the list, the Durango really stands out.

To determine the list of the most reliable SUVs, iSeeCars looked at more than 1.8 million vehicles and studied how long they tend to last. The Dodge Durango did a great job in the non-profit’s analysis, landing it near the top of the list for the most reliable SUVs you can buy.

So what makes the Dodge Durango such a great pick for a long-lasting SUV? It has a high likelihood of lasting up to 200,000 miles. It also has a high reliability rating of 8.5, making this a great pick for an SUV that’s likely to last years without needing any major repairs.

Toyota has 2 reliable SUVs on the list

It’s no surprise that Toyota has two SUVs on the list of the longest-lasting and most reliable vehicles. Both the Toyota Highlander and Toyota 4Runner make the top four. The Toyota Highlander is a conventional SUV that lasts a long time. The Highlander has an overall reliability rating of 8.5. It’s a “capable crossover with a high-quality cabin and three spacious rows of seats.”

And in first place, the Toyota 4Runner is the most reliable and longest-lasting midsize SUV. iSeeCars says that the “4Runner’s presence on the list is no surprise, as its age-old 4.0-liter V6 is one of the toughest engines out there.”

The Honda Pilot is a long-lasting SUV

The Honda Pilot is also a super long-lasting SUV. It has an overall score of 8.6 for reliability. It “appeals to those who want a family-friendly hauler but don’t require a full-size SUV.” Besides being reliable, the Honda Pilot is spacious and family-friendly.

A long-lasting and reliable SUV is definitely a selling point when you’re car shopping. It’s no surprise to see that two Toyotas and a Honda are among the top four most reliable SUVs. And the 2022 Dodge Durango is a welcome addition to the list, giving car shoppers a sporty, quick alternative to the usual favorites.
